14 Regent’s Park

Address : St Johns Lodge Ward : Regent's Park Inner Circle Regents Park London NW1 4NX Ref . No. : 20/08343/TCA Proposal : Trees are referenced T1-T11 in correlation to attached plan. All reduction work will be carried out to suitable growth points strictly adhering to BS3998. T1) Horse Chestnut next to Gatehouse: Major limb failure in August 2020 (see PDF attachment) has resulted in an imbalanced crown. Proposed work: Rebalance crown by reducing remaining limbs by up to 2.5 metres. T2) Mature Lime next to (T1) and gatehouse. Remove epicormic growth around first major union; remove all dead wood. T3) Large Sycamore (T3) near footpath next to North East lawn garden. Tree has had extensive pruning work carried out over footpath (north side), some of these pruning cuts have not occluded well and have caused minor decay to spread down limbs and at unions. Visible decay in base of tree. Proposed work: Overall crown reduction up to 2 metres; 15% volume reduction (drop crotching and thinning secondary growth) with specific focus on minimising stress on weak / damaged unions, whilst maintaining a natural flowing canopy outline; all cuts strictly adhering to BS3998 pruning standards so as to not leave any further major wounds. T4) Horse Chestnut directly next to main building at the North of site. This tree has been reduced several times. It appears that some of the wounds have not sufficiently occluded. The tree has a significant natural lean towards the house (south west) with several major heavy limbs also south and south west side. Client is paranoid about limb failure close to the building after T1 Limb failure earlier in the year. Proposed work: reduce overall crown by up to 2 metres; 20% volume reduction on heavier limbs on South and South West side. T5) Large multi-stemmed Sycamore at the North West of the site. Tree appears to be in good health and structurally sound, although all major stems have a significant lean away from the central union in the base. Proposed work: Reduce overall crown by up to 2 metres to maintain structural integrity in base. T6 & T7) 2 x Hawthor... Received : 29.12.20 Level : Applic. for works to trees in CA

15 Proposal : Trees are referenced T1, G1, G2 in correlation to attached plan. All reduction work will be carried out to suitable growth points strictly adhering to BS3998. T1) Lime tree on South East corner of site: The two lowest lateral limbs on the West side of the tree have previously been reduced over the building. The regrowth is much denser on the reduction points in relation to the rest of the crown. Proposed work: Thin out the regrowth only on above stated reduction points by 50% to provide an even flowing and consistent canopy. G1) Group of trees along Western Border of the property: Hawthorne x 2; Holly: These trees are encroaching slightly on the footpath at the rear of the property. Proposed work: Crown lift any branches encroaching on footpath up to 2.5 metres to provide clearance. G2) Damson and Willow tree on North West corner of site: These trees have been reduced heavily before and have consequently produced dense vertical regrowth. Proposed work: Remove vertical regrowth (up to 2.5 metres) back to suitable growth points adhering to BS3998. Received : 29.12.20 Level : Applic. for works to trees in CA
