SCHOOL BOARD NEWS

These are the UNOFFICIAL DRAFT MINUTES SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND BOARD APPROVAL, 2-6- 102,104 MCA of the Special April 6, 2018 School Board meeting:  Chairman Don Hagan called the meeting to order at 2:45 p.m. Roll was taken and it was established that a quorum was present.  Purpose for these meetings are to interview two candidates for the position of the Superintendent for the 2018-2019 school year, and to discuss the Resolution to Participate in the INTERCAP program.  Tara Thomas was interviewed by the Board of Trustees present via Facetime. Interview lasted until 3:45 at which time Chairman Hagan recessed the meeting and gave the staff an opportunity to visit with Ms. Thomas.  At 4:30 the meeting was re-convened where the second candidate Logan Brower was interviewed by the Board of Trustees present. Interview lasted until 5:00 at which time Chairman Hagan recessed the meeting and gave the staff an opportunity to visit with Mr. Brower.  Chairman Hagan re-convened the meeting in Room 206 to review the interviews and to discuss the INTERCAP loan resolution and documentation.  Matt Stentoft moved to approve the RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE BOARD OF INVESTMENTS OF THE STATE OF MONTANA ANNUAL ADJUSTABLE RATE TENDER OPTION MUNICIPAL FINANCE CONSOLIDATION ACT BONDS (INTERCAP REVOLVING PROGRAM), APPROVING THE FORM AND TERMS OF THE LOAN AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY OF DOCUMENTS RELATED THERETO, to fund the purchase of the MCI activity bus. Jesse Cole seconded and all present voted in favor. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

These are the UNOFFICIAL DRAFT MINUTES SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND BOARD APPROVAL, 2-6- 102,104 MCA of the Special April 10, 2018 School Board meeting:  Chairman Don Hagan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Roll was taken and it was established that a quorum was present.  Purpose for the meeting was to choose a candidate for Superintendent and offer a contract for the 2018-2019 school year.  After discussion and input from staff no action was taken. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

These are the UNOFFICIAL DRAFT MINUTES SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND BOARD APPROVAL, 2-6-102,104 MCA of the Regular April 12, 2018 School Board meeting:  Chairman Don Hagan called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. Roll was taken and it was established that a quorum was present.  Patrons and visitors were recognized.  On motion by Matt Stentoft, seconded by Leif Handran, the minutes from the regular meeting on March 19, 2018, special meeting on April 6, 2018 and special meeting on April 10, 2018 were approved unanimously as presented.  The superintendent and principal’s reports were discussed and are attached and made a part of these minutes by reference.  On motion by Tim Tande, seconded by Jesse Cole, the March 10, 2018 through April 10, 2018 claims in the amount of $26,475.39 were approved unanimously as presented.  On motion by Tim Tande, seconded by Matt Stentoft, the Activities Report for March, 2018 was approved unanimously as presented.  Jesse Cole moved to purchase 50 iPads in the amount $14,700.00 from Apple to replace older iPads, using iPad insurance money for the purchase. Matt Stentoft seconded and all present voted in favor.  Matt Stentoft moved to approve the bid from Dale & Jax Door & Glass, Inc in the amount of $30,990.00 to upgrade the north and south doors, using funds from Sheridan Electric donations and Flex fund for down payment. Tim Tande seconded and all present voted in favor  Matt Stentoft moved to offer a one year contract to Tara Thomas for the Superintendent position for the 2018-2019 school year. Leif Handran seconded and all present voted in favor. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

OFFICE NOTES

We are quickly approaching the end of the school year. All students must have any owing balances paid before they can check out of school. If your child's lunch balance is low or in the negative, please send funds.

Lunch letters will be mailed home every other week during April and every week in May for those students with low or negative lunch balances.
