OFG receives Outstanding Management Award

We’re very proud to announce that during the Group’s annual Partners in Pride Conference, OFG was honoured with a 2010 Outstanding Management Award.

The award was presented to our team for great gains in store standards, productivity, supply chain, shrink reduction and customer service while operating in a tough competitive environment.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone for doing their part to help us be Simply The Best Little Food Company in Canada! At every opportunity throughout the year, we find fun and committed to creative ways to help support our neighbours, friends and the our communities communities we serve – here’s just a couple of great examples.

Save-On-Foods team members in Edmonton took part in the annual Valentine’s Day Hair Massacure, a fundraiser to benefit Alberta kids with life threatening illnesses.

Every year, participants collect pledges and dye their hair pink in support of the kids. Then, on the final day of the event, they shave their heads as a tribute to kids who've lost their hair due to cancer treatment.

The Edmonton Save-On-Foods team raised Money raised goes to the Stollery Children’s Hospital more than $25,000 for Alberta kids during the Foundation, Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Ronald annual Hair Massacure fundraiser. McDonald Foundation. What a great cause!

Overwaitea Foods team racks up community recognition in Fernie This year, the Fernie Rod and Gun Club's Awards Night and Fundraiser became the largest and most successful in the club’s 111 year history.

Overwaitea Foods stores in Creston and Sparwood were proud to take part in and sponsor the event with a fabulous banquet dinner. A great time was had by all, and OFG team members even took home a couple of awards.

Who says fibre isn’t fun? Save-On-Foods teams put their own spin on the Fibre 1 selling challenge and made it a success. and the winner is… The OFG competitive spirit is alive and well! The teams from Save-On-Foods in West Quesnel and Edmonton’s Mayfield store went head to head on the Fibre 1 challenge. It all started with Store Managers (and brothers) Don and Brian Gandy betting each other that their store team could sell the most Fibre 1 bars over a four- week period. It was a tight race all month long, but Mayfield came out on top. Over the past year, the Oxford store team has done a fantastic job of establishing themselves as a proud part of the new community. They've rolled up their sleeves and helped support important local initiatives, like a new school and a new community park. Way to go Oxford!
