On 22 July 2015, the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer, the leading fishing port in , and the , the leading passenger port and 4th ranking port for goods in France, became one and the same «Port Boulogne Calais» as part of a public service delegation contract (DSP) with the Nord-Pas de Calais Regional Council, which owns both ports.
