  • Is Feeneyism Catholic? / François Laisney
I S F That there is only one true Church, the one, Holy, Catholic, EENEYISM Apostolic, and Roman Church, outside of which no one can be saved, has always been taught by the Catholic Church. This dogma, however, has been under attack in recent times. Already last century, the Popes had to repeatedly rebuke the liberal Catholics for their tendency to dilute this The Catholic dogma, “reducing it to a meaningless formula.” But in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s, the same dogma was C Meaning of misrepresented on the opposite side by Fr. Catholic Church IS FEENEYISM REV. FR. FRANÇOIS LAISNEY There Is No CATHOLIC? Salvation” What is at stake?—Fidelity to the unchangeable Catholic Faith, to the Tradition of the Church. We must neither deviate on the left nor on the right. The teaching Church must “religiously guard and faithfully explain the deposit of Faith that was handed down through the Apostles,…this apostolic doctrine that all the Fathers held, and the holy orthodox Doctors reverenced and followed” (Vatican I); all members of the Church must receive that same doctrine, without picking and choosing what they will believe. We may not deny a point of doctrine that belongs to the IS deposit of Faith—though not yet defined—under the pretext that it has been distorted by the Liberals.

Portier, Ph.D. In its analysis of mystical body of Christ theology in the twentieth century, this dissertation identifies three major streams of mystical body theology operative in the early part of the century: the Roman, the German-Romantic, and the French-Social- Liturgical. Delineating these three streams of mystical body theology sheds light on the diversity of scholarly positions concerning the heritage of mystical body theology, on its mid twentieth-century recession, as well as on Pope Pius XII’s 1943 encyclical, Mystici Corporis Christi, which enshrined “mystical body of Christ” in Catholic magisterial teaching. Further, it links the work of Virgil Michel and Louis-Marie Chauvet, two scholars remote from each other on several fronts, in the long, winding French stream.

Cardinal Merry del Val on the Authority of the Pope “The Truth of Papal Claims, by Raphael Cardinal Merry del Val, which Preserving Christian Publications has recently reprinted . is a worthy edition of an important Catholic work.” – Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke “Hence Dr. Oxenham may learn, that by Infallibility we do not mean ‘impeccability’ or sinlessness in the person of S. Peter or of his successors, who are accountable to God for their own consciences and their own lives like every other human being; ... we do not mean that the Roman Pontiff receives special revelations from heaven, or that by a revelation of the Holy Spirit he may invent or teach new doctrines not contained in the deposit of Faith, though, when occasion offers, and especially in times of conflict, he may define a point which all have not clearly recognized in that Faith, or which some may be striving to put out of view. Nor do we mean that every utterance that proceeds from the Pope’s mouth, or from the Pope’s pen, is infallible because it is his. Great as our filial duty of reverence is towards whatever he may say, great as our duty of obedience must be to the guidance of the Chief Shepherd, we do not hold that every word of his is infallible, or that he must always be right.

Alphonsus Ihuoma ________________________________ Professor Raj Bhala (Chairperson) Date approved: May 15, 2014 ii ABSTRACT Man, as a person, is superior to the state, and consequently the good of the person transcends the good of the state. The philosopher Jacques Maritain developed his political philosophy thoroughly informed by his deep Catholic faith. His philosophy places the human person at the center of every action. In developing his political thought, he enumerates two principal tasks of the state as (1) to establish and preserve order, and as such, guarantee justice, and (2) to promote the common good. The state has such duties to the people because it receives its authority from the people. The people possess natural, God-given right of self-government, the exercise of which they voluntarily invest in the state.

ABSTRACT SOULS IN THE BALANCE: THE “HERESY AFFAIR” AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON, 1960-67 Brown, Mary Jude University of Dayton, 2003 Director: Dr. Sandra Yocum Mize This dissertation examines the “Heresy Affair” at the University of Dayton, a series of events predominantly in the philosophy department that occurred when tensions between the Thomists and proponents of new philosophies reached crisis stage in fall 1966. The “Affair” culminated in a letter written by an assistant professor at Dayton to the Cincinnati archbishop, Karl J. Alter. In the letter, the professor cited a number of instances where “erroneous teachings” were “endorsed” or “openly advocated” by four faculty members. Concerned about the pastoral impact on the University of Dayton community, the professor asked the archbishop to conduct an investigation.

  • „Principele Scortesco”. Cine Era? (Cu O Incursiune În Peisajul Catolic Tradiţionalist Din Apus)
1 Un român exilat misterios: „Principele Scortesco”. Cine era? (cu o incursiune în peisajul catolic tradiţionalist din Apus) P. dr. Remus Mircea Birtz, OBSS Summary This study presents some data about the Romanian Traditional Catholic writers, the painter Paul Scorţescu / Scortesco / Scortzesco (1893, Yassy – 1976, Paris), his brother the diplomatic minister Theodor Scorţescu / Scortzesco (1895, Yassy – 1979, Buenos-Aires), known in the Romanian literature, and Miss Myra Davidoglou (1923, Bucharest – 2001, France) a graphic artist too. Some historical and genealogical data about the Scortzesco Moldavian-Romanian noble family are given, and a short landscape of the Traditional Catholic Resistance. It is proven that the well-known statement of Paul Scortzesco about the 1963 Conclave cannot be true, however without denying the election of Cardinal Giuseppe Siri as Pope (Gregory XVII) in the 1958 Conclave. Some biographical data about the Scortzescos can and must be certainly corrected, when new informations from the yet unknown Romanian Exile Culture will be available. Key words: Paul Scorţescu / Scortesco / Scortzesco (1893-1976), Theodor Scorţescu / Scortzesco (1895-1979), Myra Davidoglou (1923-2001), Cardinal Giuseppe Siri (Gregory XVII), Roman Catholic Resistance, Sedevacantism, Romanian Exile. N.B. • Catholic Candle's List of Priests & Those Who Claim to Be Priests
Revision date: November 6, 2020 Catholic Candle’s List of Priests & Those Who Claim to be Priests This list primarily focuses on whether there is any doubt concerning the validity of the ordination of a priest whom the faithful might encounter. Note: Catholic sacramental theology requires that an ordination be treated as invalid if even the slightest reasonable doubt exists, concerning the validity of either the ordination or the ordaining bishop’s consecration. See the analyses elsewhere in Catholic Candle, which demonstrate the inherent doubtfulness of conciliar ordinations and consecrations: http://catholiccandle.neocities.org/faith/new-ordination-doubtful.html https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B49oPuI54eEGd2RRcTFSY29EYzg/view https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B49oPuI54eEGZVF5cmFvMGdZM0U/view Also, in the list below, Catholic Candle flags sedevacantist priests (or supposed priests) of which we are aware. Sedevacantism is a grave error and is schism. See this article analyzing the sedevacantist error: https://catholiccandle.neocities.org/faith/against-sedevacantism.html This is not a list of “approved” priests.
