THS- Troy High School Marching Band has done it again, they have qualified for State Finals...this marks the 40th year in a row. After an initial rocky start of this season, the band dominated at Hamilton by gaining a superior rating, winning Best Auxiliary- class AA, 1st place- class AA, best Overall Auxiliary, Best Overall Music, and finally, Grand Champion. “It was pretty great, I wasn’t expecting to do as well as we did,” said Carter Mary. Just a week prior, September 14, the band hosted the 39th annual Trojan Invitational with a total of 15 performing bands. Our band scored a two, “We worked really hard and did the best we possibly could at that point,” said Hailey Kinstle. The show this year is titled Rise, and features “Adagio for Strings” by Samuel Barber, “Confuta- tis from Requiem” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “Sound of Silence” by Paul Simon, “Joy” by Joseph Curiale, “Rise” by Katy Perry, and the poem “Invictus” by William Henley.
