YOU GOTTA BE A BLIND MAN NOT TO SEE THAT WE GOT A TON OF TALENT ON THE TEAM, RIGHT? 1:20:40;19 - UNLIKELY CHAMPS SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY, FEB. 2ND, 2014, SUPER BOWL 48. A GAME THAT JERMAINE KEARSE SAW WAS THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO SHOWCASE HIS ABILITY AND SKILL. Page 3 of 8 A GAME THAT MICHAEL BENNETT, UNDERRATED, OVERACHIEVER. AM I SUPPOSED TO BE IN THAT GAME? IN THAT GAME, THAT DAY, MICHAEL ROBINSON WAS JUST SO THANKFUL FOR THE MOMENT THAT I GOT AN OPPORTUNITY TO COME BACK AND FINISH THIS THING OFF THE RIGHT WAY. WHEN PRIDE COMES, THEN COMES DISGRACE, BUT WITH HUMILITY COMES WISDOM. AND MY MOM USED TO ALWAYS TELL ME THAT PROVERB. SHE USED TO ALWAYS SAY, "MIKE, YOU HAVE TO BE HUMBLE IF YOU WANT SUCCESS IN THIS WORLD. YOU HAVE TO BE A MAN OF SERVICE FIRST." EVERY PIECE OF ADVERSITY IN MY LIFE ALWAYS LEADS BACK TO THAT BECAUSE THAT'S KIND OF WHAT I LIVE BY. MICHAEL ROBINSON’S MORALS WOULD SERVE HIM WELL. AFTER BECOMING A HIGH SCHOOL SENSATION AT QUARTERBACK, HE ENDURED THREE SEASONS AS A UTILITY PLAYER AT PENN STATE. IN HIS ONLY FULL SEASON AS THE STARTER, ROBINSON LED THE NITTANY LIONS TO AN 11-AND-1 RECORD AND A VICTORY IN THE ORANGE BOWL. MAYBE I WAS, ALL ALONG, A R.B. WHO COULD THROW THE BALL. BUT MY GOAL WASN'T TO BE AN NFL QB. MY GOAL WAS TO BE IN THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. ROBINSON WOULD ACHIEVE HIS GOAL. IN 2006, HE WAS DRAFTED IN THE FOURTH ROUND BY THE SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS. IT WAS AN ADJUSTMENT GOING FROM THE POSITION OF QB TO BEING A ROLE PLAYER: BACKUP R.B., FULLBACK, SPECIAL TEAMER. YOU’RE A ROLE GUY. BUT AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE 2010 PRESEASON, THE 49ERS “ROLE GUY” WAS RELEASED. AS I WAS ON MY WAY BACK TO THE HOUSE WHEN A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE CALLED ME, WHOSE NAME WAS JEFF ALBRIGHT. I PLAYED WITH HIM AT S.F. BUT NOW HE WAS AN ASST. SPECIAL TEAMS COACH WITH SEATTLE. SEATTLE WANTED ME. IT JUST FELT GOOD TO KNOW THAT A TEAM LIKE SEATTLE WANTED MY SERVICES. Page 4 of 8 IN 2010, FULLBACK MICHAEL ROBINSON FOUND A NEW HOME IN SEATTLE. A YEAR EARLIER, ROOKIE DEFENSIVE END MICHAEL BENNETT…HOPED FOR THE SAME. MICHAEL BENNETT IS A GUY THAT IS PLAYING WITH A CHIP ON HIS SHOULDER. HE DIDN’T GET DRAFTED AND, ALL OF A SUDDEN, NOW HE’S GOTTA TRY AND FIGHT AND CLAW AND SCRAPE TO MAKE A FOOTBALL TEAM; AND THEN HE’S SHOWING UP EVERY WEEK IN BALL GAMES SOMEHOW, SOME WAY. I THOUGHT I HAD A DREAM STORY. PLAY IN THE PRESEASON. BE ONE OF THE GUYS. AND IT DIDN’T END THAT WAY. I END UP GETTING CUT AND THE SAME SITUATION I’VE BEEN GOING THROUGH MY WHOLE LIFE; WHETHER IT WAS H.S., COLLEGE OR NFL. I’M ONE OF THE BESET GUYS BUT I’M STILL GETTING OVERLOOKED. SEATTLE’S LOSS BECAME TAMPA BAY’S GAIN. OVER THE NEXT THREE SEASONS, BENNETT ECLIPSED THE PLAY OF HIS HIGHLY DRAFTED, HIGHER PAID TEAMMATES. IN 2012, HE LED THE BUCS IN SACKS AND AT SEASON’S END, SOUGHT A NEW CONTRACT. I WANTED TO STAY BUT WE HAD A BRAND NEW COACH, GREG SCHIANO... (MICHAEL! GET THEM TOGETHER...) AND, UNFORTUNATELY, I DIDN'T FIT IN HIS SCHEME AND I WAS JUST UPSET LIKE... MAN, ALL THAT WORK YOU PUT IN AND THEY FIND A WAY TO REPLACE YOU. MAN, STRAIGHTEN OUT YOUR SLOPPY JERSEY. IN 2013, BENNETT RETURNED TO HIS FIRST NFL HOME – SEATTLE. A YEAR EARLIER, UNDRAFTED FREE AGENT WIDE RECEIVER JERMAINE KEARSE COMPLETED A MUCH SHORTER PILGRIMAGE TO THE SAME CITY. GROWING UP HERE I REMEMBER MY FIRST ACTUALLY SEAHAWKS GAME WAS ACTUALLY AT THE UNIV. OF WASH. VS. THE DENVER BRONCOS WHICH IS SUPER FUNNY IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT! IT WAS AT THE TIME WHERE I BELIEVE THE KINGDOME JUST HAD DEMOLISHED AND THEY MOVED THEIR GAMES TO THE HUSKY STADIUM. KEARSE PLAYED COLLEGIATELY ON THAT SAME FIELD…BEFORE SIGNING WITH SEATTLE IN 2012. Page 5 of 8 THE VERY FIRST PLAY IN MY CAREER, I GOT A CATCH. THEN THE NEXT ONE I DROPPED. INCONSISTENCY HAD HAUNTED KEARSE DATING BACK TO COLLEGE, BUT HIS KNACK FOR MAKING BIG PLAYS IN KEY SITUATIONS WAS UNDENIABLE. A FACT FORMER USC HEAD COACH PETE CARROLL HAD WITNESSED FIRSTHAND. I ALWAYS FELT THAT I REALLY EXCEL WHEN IT'S UNDER PRESSURE OR WHEN IT'S A CLUTCH MOMENT. KEARSE CAUGHT TWO PASSES DURING A GAME WINNING DRIVE IN A 2009 UPSET OF #3 USC. HE REGISTERED THREE RECEPTIONS IN THE GAME. TEAMED UP WITH PETE CARROLL IN 2012…KEARSE HAD THREE CATCHES ALL SEASON. I FELT LIKE I HAD NO DOUBT IN MY SKILL, AND I HAD NO DOUBT IN THE WAY I COULD PLAY. I JUST GO OUT THERE AND JUST TRY TO MAKE THE BEST OF MY OPPORTUNITIES AND CONTROL OF THE THINGS I CAN CONTROL. THAT DENVER PRESEASON GAME I WOKE-UP THAT MORNING KNOWING SOMETHING WAS DIFFERENT. LIKE A PAIN I NEVER FELT BEFORE. SO AFTER 2 TRIPS TO THE HOSPITAL, I STILL WASN'T EATING .

OAKLAND RAIDERS vs. NEW YORK JETS Sunday, September 17, 2017 Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Postgame Quotes HEAD COACH JACK DEL RIO Opening Statement: “Alright, looked like our crowd had some fun. Good, solid day. It’s awesome to be 2-0, nice start to the season. I thought three phases, once again, contributed to the victory. Awesome to see. Offense gets six touchdowns and a field goal out of the 10 series. Explosive plays, no sacks, so good stuff there. Special teams contributed. Made all our kicks when we lined up for them. Got the turnover on that muffed at the end of the second quarter, which was a big way to end the half. Defense holds them to less than 300 and gets four sacks and forced a fumble. Good stuff. Obviously, always stuff to correct, but we’ll do that with a smile this week getting ready for Washington. Questions?” Q: What’s it like seeing Mario Edwards Jr. being able to start? Coach Del Rio: “Yeah, Mario has been healthy throughout the offseason, leading into this year. Had a real productive camp. He’s part of our strength up in the trenches. Mario is athletic, big physical guy. We’re definitely a better unit with him in the lineup.” Q: What did you see from Cordarrelle Patterson? Coach Del Rio: “Yeah, we’ve got some things for him. I think he’s an exciting football player. We’re happy to have him. That’s was an example of some of the things we think we can do with him.

  • Worst Play Calling in the History of Sports? Or Law?
www.lawvision.com Worst Play Calling in the History of Sports? Or Law? By Joseph B. Altonji on February 4, 2015 As I write this less than 24 hours after the stunning end of Super Bowl XLIX, the consensus has completely firmed: Seattle’s decision to throw the ball on the one yard line, with three downs and enough time for Marshawn Lynch to make that final yard was the worst play calling in the history of the Super Bowl and probably of all time in any sport. It erased the miracle of Jermaine Kearse’s reception only moments earlier to set up the Seattle win – which never happened. The Seahawks had a well-fought LawVision INSIGHTS game won… they just had to finish it. This one will be remembered for a long while. Blog So, what does this have to do with the business of law? A lot, actually, on multiple levels: First, the obvious. A lot of good work can be undone by one or a few colossal mistakes. We’ve seen examples over the past few years of law firms coming undone, and once the details get out you can’t help but ask, “What were they thinking?” Building a major firm with little or no capital? Providing high-profile laterals with huge guarantees? Fudging the numbers? But there is nothing new about law firm leaders blowing the call – those who have been around long enough will remember the ill-fated, culturally disastrous merger of Chicago’s Isham Lincoln & Beale with Ruben & Proctor in 1986. The deal still ranks as one of the worst legal merger decisions ever made, and the combined firm lasted less than two years.

The Seattle Seahawks have ended their drought and have won their first ever Super Bowl Championship in franchise history. The Seahawks began their inception to the NFL in 1976. The Seahawks or Super Bowl Champions Seattle Seahawks (SuperHawks) It took only thirty-eight years but we finally made it. The Seattle Seahawks have ended their drought and have won their first ever Super Bowl Championship in franchise history. The Seahawks began their inception to the NFL in 1976. The Seahawks originally played their games in the historic know blown up Kingdome and were part of the AFC West. The Hawks are the only team to have played in the AFC and NFC Championships. Four NFL Hall of Famers have come from the Seahawks, which include Steve Largent, Cortez Kennedy, Warren Moon, and Walter Jones. The Seahawks have won the eight division titles and two NFC Championships in 2005-2006 and this season in 2013-14. The first time the Seahawks made it to the Super Bowl the Pittsburgh Steelers trounced them in 2006. The final score to that game (Super Bowl XL) was 21-10 in favor of the Steelers. The loss to the Steelers was devastating to the city of Seattle, and it proved the fact that every major Seattle team collapses in the big game. The other major sports team to have won a Championship title was the Seattle Sonics in 1979, but since then they have been relocated to Oklahoma City and are now the Thunder.
