The visit aimed to consolidate bilateral naval relations between India and Nigeria, as also to explore new avenues for naval cooperation. During his visit, the Chief of the Naval Staff of the Nigerian Navy held bilateral discussions with Admiral Sunil Lanba, Chief of the Naval Staff and other senior officials of the Indian Navy. The Nigerian Navy Chief also met the Chief of the Air Staff and the Chief of the Army Staff. India is the largest trading partner of Nigeria and Nigeria is India’s largest trading partner in Africa. Naval Staff Nigerian Navy in his chamber. 4 Sainik Samachar July 16-31, 2018 XVII National Maritime Search & Rescue Board Meeting ndian Coast Guard conducted the XVII National IMaritime Search and Rescue Board (NMSARB) meeting at New Delhi on July 5, 2018. The apex level Maritime Search and Rescue meeting was chaired by Director General Rajendra Singh, Director General Indian Coast Guard and Chairman, National Maritime Search & Rescue Board (NMSARB). The Board comprising 28 members from various ministries, agencies, all Coastal States & Union Territories meets annually to discuss policy issues, formulate guidelines & procedures and assess the efficacy of National Search and Rescue Plan. The meeting was also attended by representative of Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Chairman NMSARB delivering the Inaugural Address Fisheries and senior officials of Fisheries Department from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
