Kyogle Council staff 's loose change has helped Feeding Dreams - a Cambodian grass roots community school providing free education and meals to impoverished children -- buy a push bike for one of its students. Assets and Infrastructure Services staff member Jacqui Horder collected the donations over a period of about 18 months and presented the money as well as gifts of clothes and toiletries do- nated by staff members/work colleagues to the charity during a recent trip to Cambodia. Mrs Horder was introduced to Feeding Dreams through her son Jonny, who volunteered at the school for eight months after fin- ishing Year 12. "We went to visit and we were very impressed with the organi- sation," she said. "It's about giving children and families a hand up, rather than a hand out. "They focus on keeping families together and fighting poverty through education, training and community support." The bike bought with the funds donated by Council staff was given to a young boy who lived many kilometres away from the Above: The young recipient of the bicycle sends a message of thanks to school and had to walk for more than an hour to get there.
