ABOUT THE WENATCHEE’S RECORD... The Yakima Valley Pippins are a WCL Expansion team, established in 2014. They have set 2014 many franchise expansion records, including largest opening night crowd, most players Overall 33-23 to the team’s first All Star Game, most wins by a WCL expansion team, and first WCL League 29-22 Non-league 4-1 expansion team to win their division. They are the 2014 WCL East Champions and are Division 15-9 coached by former AppleSox player Marcus McKimmy. They play at County Stadium in Home games 16-13 Away games 17-10 Yakima, the former site of the Minor League’s . Day games 1-1 Night games 32-22 SERIES WITH THE PIPPINS The Yakima Valley Pippins are 33-18 and are the winners of the WCL East Division. The Series 14-5 AppleSox have had the Pippins number in 2014, going 5-1 with and are riding a five- Home Series 8-2 Away Series 6-3 game win streak, following their opening night loss to the Yakima outfit. The Pippins and First game of series 10-9 AppleSox have met in extra innings once; a 7-4 win that went to Wenatchee. Rubber game of series 9-2 Last game of series 14-5 Series sweeps 4-2 UNDERDOG The AppleSox have worn many metaphorical hats in their ten years in the WCL (and Doubleheader 0-0 Extra innings 5-2 15 as a franchise), however, “underdog” is not one Wenatchee is entirely familiar with. Shutouts 4-1 The AppleSox are just that; underdogs; heading into the final series of 2014. There are June games 16-9 two scenarios that could place them in the postseason. They must either take two or July games 12-13 three from Yakima and if they win two, Bend must get swept by Klamath Falls. If they August games 5-1 sweep Yakima, Bend must lose twice. A Bend win and AppleSox loss, Friday, eliminates Sunday games 7-0 Wenatchee from playoff consideration. Wenatchee has a 13-season streak of making Monday games 2-3 postseason play and have never not made the post season as a member of the WCL. Ed Tuesday games 4-5 Wednesday games 6-4 Knaggs has only not qualified for postseason play as a coach in Wenatchee once (his first Thursday games 7-1 season).
