NAX Evaluation Camps are fast approaching as the 2002-2004 Midget dates are set for May 10- 12.

Congratulations to NAX Program Director Jason Stewart and his wife Dustine who welcomed their third child into the world on Friday April 26 at 3:59 p.m.

Congratulations to Elite 15s forward Myles Hilman on winning Gold in handball at the Tier II Boys High School Provincials.

13 2004-born NAX players participated in the 2019 Cup. Congratulation to Nicholas Wolfenberg who was part of Team Red that won the tournament and Bowden Singleton who led the tournament in goals (8), assists (8) and points (16) and was named a Tournament All-Star.

We would like to congratulate Derek Hemsley and wish him good luck as he has been named one of the three Edmonton Zone Midget AAA coaches for the 2019/20 season. Derek spent the 2018/19 season as an Assistant Coach with the NAX Bantam Prep team.

Former NAX goaltender Liam McGarva and the Revelstoke Grizzlies were crowned KIJHL Champions before going on to win the 2019 Cyclone Taylor Cup (BC Junior B Provincials). Liam was also named the 2018/19 KIJHL Doug Burke Division Top Goaltender and spent two seasons with NAX winning a league championship with the Elite 15s.

It was a solid run that came up just short for goalie coach Allen York and the Innisfail Eagles as they lost 5-2 against the Lacombe Generals in the 2019 Finals.

On April 11 Chinese team Harbin Sports University played an exhibition game against our Female Preps.

Congratulations to former NAX student-athlete Lindsay Gillis who was named to the 2019 ACHA Women’s D1 National All-Tournament team.

Former Female Prep forward Brittany MacDonald was named Team MVP for the SAIT Trojans Women’s Hockey Team.

Congratulations to former NAX student-athlete Shae Demale on being named the Saint Mary’s University Women’s Hockey Team MVP for the 2018/19 season.

Congratulations to Midget Prep forward Matthew Gerke on signing his LOI with the Bonnyville Pontiacs. Matthew had 33 points in 30 games this season.

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who earned the right to represent John Maland High School at badminton zones: • Mya Healy and Brooklyn Moore • Maggie Peterson and Michaella Kibblewhite • Myles Hilman and Tyler Palmer • Ross Roloson and Caleb Wyrostok • Riley See

Riley See was the lone qualifier for both badminton zones and provincials and will represent NAX at provincials this month.
