Established in 2004, NWCI have led the development of community and civic carnival arts in Derry City & Strabane District Council area. Through creative, quality carnival creation and skills NWCI – development programmes, we have Company worked in partnership to grow the appeal of the city’s two main carnivals – Background, Spring Carnival & Halloween Carnival, History & developing and increasing participation and audiences to create family friendly, Experience inclusive quality, safe events for visitors and local communities alike. The Arts and Community Working in Partnership NWCI is a consortium and management committee and member groups are representative of arts and cultural organisations, individual artists and communities of interest and art-form from throughout the Derry City & Strabane District Council area, this includes Waterside, Cityside, rural and Strabane. Newgate Arts, Greater Shantallow Community Arts, In Your Space, Playhouse, UVArts, Bluebell Arts, Waterside Neighbourhood Partnership, Sollus Centre and Strabane Health Improvement Project. NWCI enjoys membership from over 40 community based groups and organisations. In addition we have worked with an array of carnival and Engaging arts organisations to deliver carnival arts training, community skills Communities development programmes and parades: these include Same Sky, UK in Civic Centre for Carnival Arts, Handheld Parade, The Dome Company, Francis Celebration Morgan, LUXe, Inishowen Carnival Group, The Beat, Border Arts, Macnas, Kinetika, Cosan Glas, Big Hat productions, Kadakaboom, Bui Bolg and Fools Paradise. Delivering world class events……. In 2019 NWCI secured a 5 year Service Level Agreement totalling £104,000 annually with Derry City & Strabane District Council for programming that includes the delivery of community participation in carnival parades at St Patricks day and Halloween and Rural Carnival Skills Programme. -

Now in its ninth year, the race is going from strength to strength thanks to the dedication of Omagh Wheelers members, and to the many volunteers and friends connected to Omagh Wheelers Cycling Club. In 2018, we continue to host two separate races: A4 and Women's. This special event gives both types of riders the opportunity to experience the demands and challenges of a three day event, which provides real competitive racing, and an excellent environment for riders to gain experience and develop. The demands of a three-day event are very different to a normal one-day race, as not only do riders have to try and recover before the demands of the next stage, but you also have a mixture of cycling disciplines to contend with: a time-trial stage which will benefit those strong against the clock, a King of the Hills (KOH) competition for the climbers, and a Points competition for riders with a Cavendish-style kick. -

Magheramason Presbyterian Church Newsletter September 2015 Keeping in Step with Jesus! Summer Holidays are over for another year and its hard to believe the children are all back at school again at the beginning of another new school year. P1 pupils will be entering Primary School for the first time, others are making the move from Primary to Secondary education and some heading off to university. Perhaps some reading this newsletter are beginning a new job, others may have plans to retire to begin new ventures? Regarding church life in Magheramason, it is all go, as all of our organisations begin again for another season. The past year has been a time of transition for the manse family as we have settled into life in this beautiful part of the country. It has taken time, but we are thankful for all who have helped and supported us prayerfully and practically in early stages of ministry here. We know it is the LORD himself who has led us to this place, as we have sought to follow his clear direction for our lives as a family. At this busy time it is good to stop and ask are we keeping in step with Jesus? On the first Sunday of September to coincide with Sunday School recommencing we had a special Back to School with God service. Many boys and girls led us in prayer and bible readings joining with adults who are involved in different aspects of work in our local schools.
