Camp Rockefeller STAFF APPLICATION Gus Blass Scout Reservation 2018 Quapaw Area Council Boy Scouts of America Camp Rockefeller STAFF APPLICATION Gus Blass Scout Reservation 2018 (RETAIN THIS SHEET FOR YOUR OWN USE) To all Scouts and Scouters: Opportunities to serve Scouting by being a member of the Camp Rockefeller Camp Staff are available to outstanding members of the Boy Scouts of America. Competition for employment is keen, the jobs are demanding, and the experience is exhilarating. The minimum age is sixteen. In a few cases, some mature fifteen years old may be considered. Applicants must be a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America. The principle of the Scout Oath and Law must be practiced as a way of life. The Staff must set an example of excellence in Scouting which includes the proper wearing of the Camp Rockefeller Staff Uniform. Salary is based on the position’s responsibility with consideration given to the individual’s experience and level of responsibility. A picture of you on the resume is recommended. References are important and a must! Applications will not be considered without references. Review the jobs listed and indicate your first four (4) job preferences on the application. Contracts, based on needs, will be offered upon successful completion of the personal interview and only to those applicants willing to commit to working for the entire camping season. How much does it Cost? Every effort is made to keep costs low while providing a safe, fun event for you and your family. The registration fees below cover food, craft supplies, sporting good supplies, insurance, and incidentals to keep a camp open (like electricity, permits, equipment repair, etc.). Cub Scouts will receive an event patch as part of their fees. Most of the overhead costs of keeping Camp Rockefeller operating is offset by Friends of Scouting and other donations. The base cost per person to attend camp is $20.

    Quapaw Area Council 2021 National Jamboree Contingent Leader Application Deadline: March 13, 2020 NOTICE: Jamboree leadership requires a serious time and financial commitment. Please review the requirements prior to submitting your application. Serve or have served as a Scout/Crew leader (Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Crew Advisor) for at least one year during the three-year period 2018 to 2021. Be a registered adult leader with the Quapaw Area Council. Must have completed Leader Specific and Outdoor Leader training and be current with Youth Protection Training. Have completed Wood Badge training, or be registered to attend the 2020 course. Participate in monthly Jamboree Committee planning meetings. Commit to recruit and retain a full 36-member troop for the Jamboree. This may entail making visits/presentations at district Roundtables, troop meetings, camporees, summer camp, etc. Strongly encourage all junior leaders to have completed National Youth Leadership Training. Have excellent organizational and communication skills to keep youth participants and their parents well informed in the months and weeks prior to Jamboree. Commit to attend the entire Jamboree and pre-Jamboree tour in July 2021. Dates to be determined (but typically 14-15 days). Applications cannot be accepted for leaders who cannot commit to the entire Jamboree and pre-Jamboree tour. Commit to attending/leading at least 2 Jamboree troop/crew organizational meetings and Shakedown weekend (dates to be determined).     Quapaw Area Council Boy Scouts of America Quapaw Area Council Campership Application Purpose: To provide every Quapaw Area Scout the opportunity to attend Camp Rockefeller. Troops that apply for Camperships must sell Camp Cards and/or Popcorn. The camp scholarship program is made possible through the generosity of people who donate funds to the Friends of Scouting Campaign. These scholarships are available only to registered Quapaw Area Council Scouts who have a legitimate financial need. All information is handled with confidentiality. In keeping with the Ninth point of the Scout Law, “A Scout is Thrifty,” recipients are required to provide part of their camp fee. This can be paid by the family or earned by the Scout through participation in a money earning project such as selling popcorn or camp cards. Applications submitted by May 1st will qualify for a maximum of $125 of a total “Early Bird” camp fee of $ 250. Applications received after May 1st will qualify for a maximum of $100 of a total camp fee of $ 300.
