February 26, 2021 Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer, Alabama are voting to form a union with the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU). We are the writers of feature films and television series. All of our work is done under union contracts whether it appears on Amazon Prime, a different streaming service, or a television network. Unions protect workers with essential rights and benefits. Most importantly, a union gives employees a seat at the table to negotiate fair pay, scheduling and more workplace policies. Deadline Amazon accepts unions for entertainment workers, and we believe warehouse workers deserve the same respect in the workplace. An initial taxonomy of 24 themes clustered under five meta-themes of space, lifestyle, emotions, symbolism, and social-political relations is provided, together with some proposals for further research. Keywords: abductive method; art; islandness; rock music; social construction © 2012 Institute of Island Studies, University of Prince Edward Island, Canada Introduction: Rock Music and Islands: Looking for a Link “[…] in an age when nothing is physically inaccessible or unknowable, the dream of the small, remote and undiscovered place has become so powerful” (Gillis, 2004: 148) This article presents a first exploration, qualitative in character, of how rock music lyrics and song titles portray islands, islandness, and island features. It examines the island aspects of a socio-cultural trend expressed in as far-reaching a medium as that of rock music. Here, we adopt a broad definition of ‘rock music’, including different expressions of this genre, starting with the emergence of rock in the late 1950’s to early 1960’s, and moving towards more current expressions including art rock, progressive rock, punk and reggae (Wicke, 1990; Charlton, 2003). -
A1 Fire Behavior Analysis
Fire Behavior Analysis Fire activity began to escalate in northern California on June 21, 2008 when a major lightning event affected the Northern California Geographic Coordination Area (North Ops). The July 22, 2008 National Situation Report identified 602 new fires in northern California. Throughout the remainder of June and into July fire activity remained heavy in northern California. The Siskiyou Complex on the Klamath National Forest came under the leadership of a Type II Incident Management Team on June 23, 2008. Between this date and the staffing of the Panther Fire, the forest managed a variety of other large fires including the Gould Fire, No Man‘s Fire and the Bear Wallow Complex. These fires were all located on the Happy Camp/Oak Knoll Ranger District of the forest. Fire danger indices for the Northwest Predictive Services Area (PSA) showed that ERCs were tracking near the 90th percentile most of July, while 1000-hour fuels moistures were above the 10th percentile, but were well below historic averages for this time of year. Figure 1. Energy Release Component and 1000-hour fuel moisture trends for the Northwestern Predictive Services Area. The Northwest PSA is representative of the Panther fire area. Information obtained from the Pocket Card for the western portion of the Klamath National Forest, including the Panther fire area, identified local thresholds for potential increasing fire activity as: Temperature 85°F or greater Relative humidity 20% or less Twenty-foot winds greater than 4mph and One-thousand hour fuel moistures less than 15% The 1000-hour fuel moisture and 20-foot winds exceeded these thresholds on the Panther Fire. -

ANGLE ON: an IMPERIOUS CRIME LORD sipping tea at the head of a massive antique table, surrounded by his HENCHMEN. This is HAMZA (60s) head of “The Nizam,” a league of assassins. HAMZA We’re not having this discussion again. The peace with Skalnikoff and The Colony has been to everyone’s financial benefit. They take the lion’s share of western assignments, but the Nizam controls the east, and with it-- TARIK This isn’t peace. This is Skalnikoff waiting for our guard to drop, so he can strike. If you don’t come for him, he’ll come for you, father. ANGLE ON: TARIK (30s) at the opposite end of the table. He has the bearing of an ungrateful prince: controlled by his father and desperate to take his place. HAMZA I admire your ambition, my son, but you still have much to learn. In the background, the CLUB MUSIC cuts out and we hear SCREAMS. The men at the table perk up, on high alert. A HENCHMAN peaks out the window, shakes his head to signal: the roof is empty.
