MEDIA GUIDE TIGERS ROAR at FIFA Women’s World Cup CHAPMAN MAKES WORLD CUP HISTORY FOR LSU SOCCER AllAllysha Chapman’s dream of representing her native Canada in a World Cup came true when the former LSU standout was named to head coach John Herdman’s 23-player squad wearing the Maple Leaf at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup on their home soil this past summer. “Chappy” shined for the host nation as she started all five games for Canada at left back while helping lead the team into the quarterfinals of the knockout rounds where they went out with a narrow 2-1 defeat to England. Canada topped Group A with five points before shutting out Switzerland, 1-0, in the Round of 16. The former 2011 SEC Defensive Player of the Year made history for the LSU Soccer program as the first ever Tiger to compete at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in the program’s history.
