PG 3 www.countryentertainmentusa.com N E W S B I T S EDDIE MONEY “CELEBRATES THE SEASON” WITH FELLOW ROCKERS LOU GRAMM & MICKEY THOMAS Rock „n‟ Roll Legends Ring In The Holidays With “Jingle Bell Rock” Tour Three of Rock „n‟ Roll‟s greatest singer/songwriters of all-time will soon share the stage to perform their string of unforgettable, memory- making hits and holiday tunes as part of the 2011 Jingle Bell Rock tour. Featuring Eddie Money, Lou Gramm - the voice of Foreigner and Mickey Thomas of Starship, Jingle Bell Rock kicks off the day after Thanksgiving on Friday, November 25, and runs through mid- December. The concert event promises to be a one-of-a-kind, “must- see” as Eddie, Lou and Mickey sing the classics they‟ve become known for such as “Take Me Home Tonight,” “Two Tickets To Para- dise,” “I Want To Know What Love Is,” “Jukebox Hero,” “We Built This City,” “Nothing‟s Gonna Stop Us Now,” and many more. The three superstars will share the same band and often appear to- gether on stage, taking turns showcasing their musicianship as profi- cient instrumentalists and singing backup for one another. The idea was cemented via an in-the-moment appearance (and an impromptu test-run) where the trio wowed the audience at Hollywood‟s ultra-hip Sayers Club this summer as a sneak-peek to the upcoming tour. A 17 date trek, Jingle Bell Rock will see the trio traverse the Midwest and East Coast before heading west for the tour‟s finale. Fans across the country will be treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience as the trinity of classic rock- ers also perform renditions of holiday classics as well as a few surprises. In an effort to spread joy to those less for- tunate and share the spirit of the season, the artists have plans to give back to the community in the form of cash and food donations to local charities. About Eddie Money: Eddie Money is the definition of blue-collar Rock „n‟ Roll. The iconic singer/songwriter, who was once an officer of the New York Police Department, had his first taste of success in the late „70s with singles such as “Baby Hold On” and “Two Tickets To Paradise.” To read more about Eddie Money go to www.countryentertainmentusa.com or www.eddiemoney.com About Lou Gramm: Among the most distinctive and powerful voices to emerge from Rock and Top 40 radio, Lou Gramm - the lead vo- calist and co-writer of the multi-platinum band Foreigner, as well as a successful solo artist in his own right - re- mains one of the most notable performers in music today. Gramm, the vocalist on 20 Top 40 singles, which continue to drive sales of nearly 80 million albums worldwide, exploded onto the international music scene with Foreigner on the chart topper “Feels Like The First Time” in 1977. To read more about Lou Gramm go to www.countryentertainmentusa.com or www.lou-gramm.com About Mickey Thomas: The soaring voice that propelled the multi-platinum selling band Starship through the „80s and „90s, Mickey Tho- mas has established himself as one of Rock music‟s biggest stars. Thomas first made his mark on music in 1976 as the lead vocalist on the mega-hit “Fooled Around And Fell In Love” with The Elvin Bishop Group. In 1979, Tho- mas joined Jefferson Starship, after the departure of Grace Slick and Marty Balin, and the group immediately scored a No. 1 hit with “Jane.” To read more about Mickey Thomas go to www.countryentertainmentusa.com or www.mickeythomas.com PG 4 www.countryentertainmentusa.com by Brenda L. The four sisters, ranging in age from 11 to 16, blend their harmonies around songs they have written and polish them with vocals that are smooth and pleasing to the ear. They have taken their classi- cal training and mixed it with elements of bluegrass, country and pop to produce the von Grey style. Of the six songs on the CD, “Eyes On Your Honey” stands out. These girls have a bright future on the horizon. Jed Dunkin • Dixie To Detroit City • www.jeddunkin.com Down-to-earth country music with familiar life lyrics fill Jed Dunkin‟s CD, Dixie To Detroit City. This production is all about a country boy sharing his thoughts and emotions from good times in “Dixie To Detroit City” and “Family BBQ” to more serious matters in “Daddy‟s Song” and “She Won‟t Let Go.” He also mixes in a little country gospel with “Come On Home” and “Gloryland.” While Jed‟s vocals are a little rough around the edges, it is a nice straight ahead, no frills country package. • Philip Bardowell Was Introduced to Music at an Early Age When He Began Piano Lessons at the Age of Five
Phil i p B ardowell Born in Kingston, Jamaica W.I., and raised in southern California, singer/songwriter Philip Bardowell was introduced to music at an early age when he began piano lessons at the age of five. He was influenced early on by songwriting greats: The Beatles, Elton John, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, The Eagles, Queen, Earth Wind And Fire and Bob Marley to name a few. By the age of twelve, he t aught himself how to play guitar and formed his first band, along with his brother Habib and their friend "Full House" actor, John Stamos. At the young age of 20, already an accomplished pianist and guitarist, Philip found himself on the road backing the l egendary surf duo, Jan and Dean as their bassist and backup vocalist. Consequently, Mike Love of the legendary Beach Boys, hired Philip to serve as lead guitarist and vocalist in his Endless Summer Beach Band. By the time he was 25, Philip teamed up with P eter Criss and Ace Frehley of KISS fronting Peter's band "CRISS" as lead singer and rhythm guitarist after a friend suggested that he audition for the position. When Philip sang at a birthday party for Beach Boy front man, Mike Love, he was befriended b y Beach Boy, Carl Wilson. Carl asked Philip to sing in his place as a member of the Beach Boys touring band when Carl became stricken with cancer. After Carl's passing in 1996, Philip continued in his role as lead guitarist and vocalist for the Beach Boys until 2001 when he left the band to write and record his own music and pursue other endeavors.
