John E. Kidd ’57 The term “world class” is often overused, reducing it to a cliché. But in the case of John E. Kidd, it is a well-deserved accolade. Those who know John well, regularly use those words to describe a man who is all at once an accomplished retired attorney, commu- nity activist and art enthusiast. John’s professional achievements are many. He is listed in the International Who’s Who of Patent Lawyers, and his peers have rated him “one of the very best trial lawyers at the patent bar.” He retired from the global law firm of Clifford Chance US in 2005 after devoting much of his career to representing plaintiffs and defendants in intellectual property trials. Among the more well- known organizations and companies he represented are the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Nokia Co. and Pfizer Inc. However, John is not content to merely work. He also has been active in community groups such as United Fund of Westchester, Community Fund of Bronxville and the Westchester County Boy Scouts of America. John was honored by the President’s Council on Service and Participation for his volun- teer efforts. Nor has John ever forgotten Le Moyne, from which he graduated in 1957 with a bachelor’s degree in physics. He was active in the College’s Building on Excellence Library Campaign, serving on its development committee. John was a trustee at Le Moyne as well, and in that role he helped strengthen the educational quality of Le Moyne for future students. For the long-lasting contributions you have made to your profession, your community and your alma mater, we present to you, John E. Kidd the 2007 Le Moyne College Distinguished Alumni Award. Henry “Hank” Fust ’67 Henry “Hank” Fust’s service to the Heights is seemingly endless. Forty years after graduating from Le Moyne with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, he continues to leave his mark on the campus as a regent emeritus, annual fund drive chair, co-chair of the 2002 class gift drive and a member of the Accounting Advisory Board. Most of today’s students probably have not had the pleasure of meeting Hank in person, but several owe him their thanks for helping to make their Le Moyne experience possible. In 1990, he and his sister, Mauraide Fust Dudash ’60 established the Fust/Dudash Scholarship Fund. Hank embraces life in Central New York, and has influenced numerous commu- nity organizations, including the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, Museum of Science and Technology Foundation, Erie Canal Museum, Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce, and Manufacturers' Association of Central New York, serving each of those organizations as a board member and treasurer. Hank’s involvement with the Fayetteville-Manlius Little League includes time spent as a board member, coach and umpire over the course of 21 years. Hank also has been involved with various professional associations throughout his career, and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants recognized him with its prestigious Arthur Dixon Public Service Award in 1994. For the energy and enthusiasm with which you pursue everything you do, and for the way you exhibit how to live life to its fullest, it is our pleasure to present to you Henry W. Fust the 2007 Le Moyne College Distinguished Alumni Award. Distinguished Alumni A W A R D R E C IPIENT S 1972 Dr. John F. Blasi ’54 Education 1973 J. Barry Jesmer ’52 Mental Health 1974 Chrysant E.
