The journey continues to the Cascading Waterfalls for a photo shoot and a place where locals go for a cool dip. Souvenirs, tribal handicrafts, strange herbs, various fruits not forgetting aphrodisiacs are available at the shops. The next stop is the aboriginal village for a blowpipe demonstration and an insight into their lifestyle. The rainforest is their supermarket. 1pm After lunch visit the Tea Plantation - a vast undulating scenery of greenery. This tea plantation works closely with the WWF and the MNS in the conservation of our Orang Utan and elephants, The proceeds from the Tea cafe goes towards this conservation effort. A marvellous endeavour ! Then visit the Butterfly Farm which is a secret paradise that hosts 5.000 butterflies that dance on ferns and scented flowers. The slow boat ride itself is one to enjoy – the wonders of nature will begin to unfold; the lush greens showing, exotic fish and even the occasional monitor lizards swimming up and down beckon. NOTE: 1) The boat trip from Kuala Tembeling to Kuala Tahan lasts 3 hours, more or less. 2) The boat departs at 1:30pm every day, except on Fridays, which departs at 2:30pm. 3) Drop off point: Kuala Tahan Jetty 4) Those who will overnight at Mutiara Taman Negara Resort, you will be dropped off at the resort jetty platform. 17:00 At the end of the journey, proceed to the resort and check in. 19:00 Dinner at the resort. 20:30 The day is not over – time for a little stroll in the dark as we take you on the mysterious Night Jungle Walk. IMPORTANT NOTE: New operating hours and limitations of Canopy Walkway: Monday - Wednesday: 9.00am - 3.00pm Thursday: CLOSED Friday: 9.00am - 12.00pm Saturday & Sunday: 9.00am - 3.00pm Public Holidays: 9.00am - 3.00pm (subject to change) Maximum No of Visitors: 600 persons per day 13:00 Time for lunch at the resort. 14:00 Then it’s off for another excursion at Lata Berkoh, which you will be brought to via boat. Time to enjoy by either taking a dip in the clear water or relax by the riverbank. After a long adventurous day, time for dinner and rest at the resort. Excursion | Pahang 4D3N TAMAN NEGARA ADVENTURE DAY 03 TAMAN NEGARA [B/L/D] 08:00 Breakfast at the resort. 09:00 Meet with the Park Ranger at the hotel lobby. Ready for Rapids Shooting to Kuala Trenggan. Experience a boat ride upstream to Kuala Trenggan (Trenggan River) in a wooden boat and shooting the rapids. Although some of the rapids are very shallow, the skillful and experience boatmen still manage to pass through easily. Check it out yourself and be prepared to get wet! Stop by at an Orang Asli Settlement. 13:00 Enjoy a refreshing dip pool at Abai River next to Nusa Restaurant. You will have lunch at Nusa Restaurant or at the resort. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the resort. DAY 04 TAMAN NEGARA – KUALA LUMPUR (191 km) [B/-/-] 08:00 Breakfast at the resort before we head back to civilization, leaving only memories behind of great adventure and mystery. 09:00 Depart Taman Negara via long boat ride towards Kuala Tembeling with approximately three hours journey. NOTE: 1) The boat depart Kuala Tahan at 0900hrs, please be ready at least 30 minutes before at Kuala View Restaurant. 2) You are required to check-in at least half an hour before boat departure time. 3) For those who overnight at Mutiara Taman Negara Resort, you will depart by boat directly from resort jetty platform. 12:00 Depart Kuala Tembeling via land transfer back to Kuala Lumpur city. 16:00 Arrive in Kuala Lumpur city. Single Pax travelling price is already inclusive of single room surcharge. • Minimum 2 pax are required for JOINT basis. • During the monsoon season (October – March), it is possible that the river water level in Taman Negara gets too high and therefore the activities by boat might be suspended. • Meeting Point for JOINT transfer: For guests stay at MTN will assemble at Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur (lower lobby entrance). Meanwhile, for guests stay at Xcape Resort will assemble at Han Travel Office (Ground Floor, Mariamman Building). • When guests arrive at Kuala Tembeling jetty, a dedicated staff at the counter will brief them on the meeting point and departure time of the long boat. • Guests must carry their own luggage (up and down the staircases) as there is no bellboy service in Kuala Tembeling jetty. All the passengers must take care of their own belongings. • Luggage limitation: 1 big luggage + 1 hand carry for each passenger. A total of 64 species from seven families were recorded of which 16 species are new records for Tasek Bera. Semelai indigenous aborigines are the local inhabitants, mainly in Pos Iskandar settlement by the lake. Tasek Bera was conferred a Ramsar site in 1994 due to its biodiversity, ecological and social-economic importance.

    © Lonely Planet 305 Terengganu Some places evoke a colour. In this case Terengganu is, far and away, blue. The rich robin’s- egg blue of big skies bending under clear, bright sunlight. The deep, royal blue of the ocean running behind ferries to tropical paradise. The turtle-dotted teal of shallow lagoons and horseshoe bays lapping the sugar sands in Pulau Perhentian (the Perhentian Islands). And the organic, vegetative green-blue of Lake Kenyir, vine-shrouded in its jungle womb. Blue is a cooling colour, and the general laid-back vibe of Terengganu makes for a cool- ing escape – something about the slow pace of life makes relaxed sighs some of the most common means of communication here. Most travellers come to the state for an island experience, and they’re in the right spot: some of the best beaches in the country can be found on Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Redang and Pulau Kapas. Divers in particular are well cared for here, but if you’re up for doing nothing at all, Terengganu will indulge your indolence. But don’t completely dismiss mainland Terengganu from your exploration. This is one of the most ethnically Malay states in the country, and you have the opportunity here to engage the Malay people at, simultaneously, their most traditional, their most evolving – note the waves of modernity replacing the traditional stilt houses of Kuala Terengganu, the capital, with air-con condos – and their most Islamic. They’re also, we’d note, at their most friendly when dealing with travellers who’ve wandered off the beach.
