Dates of operation:- This entry shows the low season off peak timetable (the "peak" timetable will run from the Sunday before Easter weekend until the Saturday after Easter weekend inclusive, for 2013 this will be 24 March to 6 April, then from the Saturday of the late spring bank holiday weekend until the first Saturday in October, for 2013 this will be 25 May until 5 October inclusive, and is shown as a seperate web entry). This "off peak" timetable will run at all other times of the year. Please check carefully that this timetable corresponds to your intended dates of travel. Routes 93/X93 stopping arrangements:- These services stop at all stops between Scarborough Rail Station and Stanghow Lane End then only at Birk Brow Top, Slapewath Cottages, Guisborough Market Place, Guisborough Stokesley Road End, Ormesby Crossroads, Brambles Farm Hotel and Middlesbrough Bus Station. Council support:- Certain journeys are financially supported by Connect Tees Valley and/or North Yorkshire County Council. Alternative services:- Additional journeys run between Middlesbrough and Whitby on route 55 please see L/let 55 or our website for details. Ticket availability:- Our Arriva region wide Day and Weekly Tickets are valid throughout the 93/X93 routes and offer excellent value. The Arriva Teesside and East Cleveland ticket and All Zone Easyrider are valid only between Middlesbrough and Scaling Dam. Explorer North East tickets are fully valid on 93/X93. Please ask your driver to suggest the best value option to suit your travel needs and party. Moorsbus ticket buying facility and availability on 93/X93:- We are pleased to announce that on days of Moorsbus operation in 2013 outer zone Moors Bus tickets may be purchased on board between Guisborough and Whitby/Scarborough and Moorsbus tickets will be accepted for travel between the same points (ask your driver for price details).     Rough Diamonds – Middlesbrough Partners Tackle Neighbourhood Safety Summary This project centres on Neighbourhood Policing Team Area 1 (NPT1) in Middlesbrough which incorporates the main retail and business area of this post-industrial town in the UK, and includes a particular problem residential area known as „the Jewel Streets‟ situated in Gresham and Middlehaven wards. The area presented particular problems of crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB), and deviates statistically from the norm of the rest of Middlesbrough with even higher crime and social deprivation; 46% of the households are shown below the median income at MSOA level (see footnote). The population in this ward is at the lower end of the socio-economic scale, and also incorporates students, immigrant communities and long-term residents. Unemployment and anti-social behaviour in the ward was particularly high in 2008/9 and became the focus of partner agencies work. So-called „low-level‟ crime and ASB can seriously blight lives, as the tragic case of Fiona Pilkington shows (see useful links). Low level crime consists of minor criminal damage offences, low value theft and similar offences. The aims of this project were to discourage offending, promote positive behaviour by residents, their families and their visitors and increase community confidence. By linking offending behaviour to tenancy conditions, partners were able to encourage changes in behaviour; whether that change is residents ceasing to associate with offenders, or offenders ceasing to offend. The 1 project also set out to forge strong relationships between all partners and the community they served in order to create a sustainably safe environment for people to live and work.
