Press Release
Press Release AIDA guest for a day - ship visits in Hamburg, Kiel, and Warnemünde Walking along the gangway just once, standing at the railing, and looking out over the ocean or eating in one of AIDA's on-board restaurants - residents of Hamburg, Kiel, and Rostock, as well as vacationers on the coast will have the chance to fulfill this dream again in 2015. The first few dates of ship visits for the coming season have already been established and can be booked starting immediately. AIDAmar will kick things off on March 21, 2015 in Hamburg. In addition to AIDAcara, AIDAluna can also be visited in Kiel this year for the first time. In Warnemünde AIDAdiva will be added to the program, thus providing an initial opportunity to get to know this ship as well. The ship visit includes a tour lasting about three hours as well as lunch on board. During the tours, visitors will get a glimpse of the ships' public areas - from the wellness oasis to the Kids Club and various staterooms. Afterwards, visitors will embark on a journey of culinary discovery in one of the buffet restaurants. The ship visit costs 49 euros per person. Children 15 years of age and younger are welcome on board free of charge. As a way of saying thank you, guests who book an AIDA trip within the three months following their ship visit will receive on-board credit for 50 euros.* There are currently 12 dates to choose from in the northern German port cities. Other dates are to follow. -

This Is a Daily Compilation of Media Articles Concerning the Covid-19 Impact to the Global Cruise Industry
1 THIS IS A DAILY COMPILATION OF MEDIA ARTICLES CONCERNING THE COVID-19 IMPACT TO THE GLOBAL CRUISE INDUSTRY. Please note this isn’t a complete listing of media articles but a snapshot only. 29 March, 2020: PASSENGERS TRANSFERRED FROM VIRUS-STRICKEN CRUISE SHIP OFF PANAMA Passengers on a virus-stricken cruise liner stranded off Central America were transferred to another ship Saturday, after the US-bound vessel was given permission to pass through the Panama Canal. The Zaandam had been stuck in the Pacific Ocean since March 14 after dozens of the 1,800 people on board reported flu-like symptoms and several South American ports refused to let it dock. The ship's Dutch owner Holland America said Friday four passengers had died and two more had tested positive for COVID- 19. Panama on Saturday reversed its decision to block the Zaandam from its canal, and said it would be allowed to pass "to provide humanitarian help." Another ship, the Rotterdam, has since arrived off the coast of Panama from San Diego carrying food, medical staff, testing kits, medicine and food for the beleaguered vessel. Passengers showing no signs of the virus were ferried from the Zaandam to the Rotterdam on Saturday, a French tourist told AFP by telephone. "It's like emptying a bathtub with a teaspoon," she said. "The boats can hold about 100 people, and they are putting about half in at a time. That's why it's going slowly." The Zaandam cruise liner left Buenos Aires on March 7 and was supposed to arrive two weeks later at San Antonio, near Santiago in Chile. -

Port of Southampton Welcomes Record-Breaking 2m Cruise Passengers | 1 Port of Southampton Welcomes Record-Breaking 2m Cruise Passengers A record breaking 2m cruise passengers visited the Port of Southampton in 2017 and brought with them a massive multi-million pound cash injection to the local economy. Every time a cruise ship visits Southampton, it is estimated to bring a cash boost of £2m and in 2017 there were more than 500 cruise calls. ABP Southampton Director, Alastair Welch, said: “2017 was a record-breaking year for the Port of Southampton and 2018 looks set to be even busier. “A huge amount of work goes into ensuring all passengers transit our facilities with the greatest of ease and it is testament to our whole port community that 2m cruise passengers receive Southampton’s world class service.” In 2017 the port experienced its busiest long weekend ever when 15 cruise ships visited the port in June. And it was recognised for the ninth consecutive year as the Best UK Departure Port by Cruise Critic UK editors. In 2018 the port can look forward to eight maiden calls and a naming ceremony for Azamara Pursuit. New ships calling for the first time in Southampton will be: Aida Perla; Norwegian Bliss; MSC Meraviglia; Sapphire Princess; MS Zuiderdam; Seven Seas Navigator and MS Koningsdam. AIDA Cruises- Hier Ist Das Lächeln Zu Hause
