Sat, March 13 @ Empire Landmark Hotel March 13 marked the Dogwood Monarchist Society’s annual Coronation Ball, where the court crowned its new Empress XXXIX and her entourage. The ball was a classic. The room was jam-packed with tiaras, crowns, gowns, divas and their minions. The Queen Mother, DeDe Drew (Empress IX), worked her 30th anniversary performance, as did the stellar Christopher Peterson, performing live for her 25th anniversary. Courts came from as far away as Kentucky to see the uncontested Marty “Mojo” Stevens and Raye Sunshine sworn in as Emperor and Empress XXXIX. It was a wonderful, well-attended evening.
