HOLTON RECORDER, WEDNESDAY, MAY 22, 2019, PAGE 2 Body found in Brown County Foul play is not suspected, law enforcement officers say, in the death of 54-year-old Horton resident Anthony Walker, who was found deceased Sunday, May 12, on the Kickapoo Res- ervation located west of Horton in Brown County. Kickapoo Tribal Police Chief Nathan Gray reported that a local resident found Walker’s body along the 700 block of 129th Road and that an autopsy was being performed. Police Chief Gray said that Walker, an over-the-road truck driver, had been arrested in No- vember of 2018 after a 10-hour standoff on the reservation with police that reportedly included shots being fired at police of- ficers after they responded to the scene of a domestic distur- bance. Walker entered a not guilty plea last month in Brown Coun- ty District Court on 12 counts related to the stand-off and a jury trial was scheduled for Au- gust. Funeral services for Walker were held Saturday, May 18, at the Kickapoo Community Building on the Kickapoo Res- ervation. Burial was held in the Kennekuk Cemetery on the Kickapoo Reservation the next day.
