In 1942 this species was found in the Czech Republic for the first time and a total of 155 species records were obtained by the end of 2005. Based on distribution data, we observed the gradual expansion of this gastropod not only in the Elbe Lowland, where its occurrence is concentrated, but also in other regions of the Czech Republic particularly between 2001 and 2005. Information on habitat, altitude and co-occurrence with other molluscs are presented. An annotated check-list of the freshwater molluscs of Germany. – By considering the international code of zoological nomenclature, a critical annotated check-list for the freshwater molluscs of Germany is introduced, considering the currently used check-lists of GLÖER & MEIER- BROOK (1998), FALKNER et al. (2001), GLÖER (2002) und GLÖER & MEIER-BROOK (2003). As a basis of this list we used the CLECOM list (FALKNER & al. 2001), and the 1st update of the CLECOM list (BANK et al. 2001). In total 66 taxa are discussed or annotated. Meanwhile 15 taxa where deleted, because we do not think that these are distinct species or subspecies. This concerns particularly the subspecies of the Unionidae, which are not to be determinated seriously without the knowledge of the sampling site. In 5 taxa we changed the names given in the CLECOM list by established names, these are: Bithynia transsilvanica = B. troschelii, Anisus septemgyratus = A. leucostoma, A. calculiformis = A. septemgyratus, Ferrissia clessiniana = F. wautieri, Mytilopsis leucophaeata = Congeria leucophaeata. Finally we gave two subspecies the rank of species: Pisidum ponderosum and Pisidium crassum. Kurzfassung. Unter Beachtung der internationalen Regeln für die zoologische Nomenklatur, wird auf der Basis der derzeit verwendeten systematischen Listen von GLÖER & MEIER-BROOK (1998), FALKNER et al. (2001), GLÖER (2002) und GLÖER & MEIER-BROOK (2003) eine kritische, kommentierte Artenliste für die Süßwassermollusken in Deutschland vorgestellt. -

The oxbow lakes were characterized by relatively low alpha-diversity (number of species 4 ± 2) and relatively high beta-diver- sity (Jacquard index 0.26 ± 0.18), which is typical for floodplain ecosystems. Lake communities were domi- nated by Planorbis planorbis (40%), Lymnaea stagnalis (15%), Anisus spirorbis (14%), Lymnaea saridalensis (9%), Anisus vortex (8%). The results of our analysis showed that the group of factors that determined the type of water body (stability, light intensity, water temperature, oxygen concentrations) had the greatest impact on the structure of malacocenoses. -
Diversidad Y Distribución De Los Moluscos De Agua Dulce En La Comunidad De Madrid (España)

Araujo* y M.A. Ramos* RESUMEN El estudio de los moluscos de agua dulce llevado a cabo en la Comunidad de Madrid permite citar 33 especies, de ellas 25 son de gasterópodos y ocho son de bivalvos. De estas especies, 23 ya habían sido citadas previamente en esta área, aunque la mayoría con otros nombres, bien porque en la actualidad son sinónimos, o bien por determina- ciones erróneas. Para las 33 especies, identificadas en un total de 463 muestras analiza- das, junto con el estudio de los ejemplares conservados en el Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales, se aportan datos taxonómicos y breves descripciones, así como información sobre los habitat en los que se han encontrado. Se indica también si habían sido citados previamente en el área y el nombre asignado por los diferentes autores. De acuerdo con los datos bibliográficos manejados, un total de nueve especies se citan por primera vez en la región: Pseudamnicola (Pseudamnicola) subproducta, Pseudamnicola (Corrosella) hinzi, Lymnaea stagnalis, Stagnicola palustris, Gyraulus (Gyraulus) chi- nensis, Gyraulus (Torquis) laevis, Ferrissia (Pettancylus) clessiniana, Oxyloma (Oxyloma) sarsii y Pisidium subtruncatum. Entre las especies citadas por otros autores, cabe mencionar que “Islamia” coronadoi, Anisus (Disculifer) vortex y Segmentina niti- da, no han podido ser localizadas. Stagnicola palustris se cita por primera vez, aunque sólo se han encontrado conchas. Dos especies, Potamopyrgus antipodarum y Gyraulus chinensis, son introducidas; la primera de ellas, considerada como invasora, presenta una amplia distribución. -

A study on its life cycle and shell growth in various condi- tions was possible due to the existence of very abundant populations in several woodland ponds of Silesia. The snails breed twice in a lifetime, and two generations reproduce in one year. The main breeding period is July/August. Some individuals breed also in the spring of the next year. The first appearance of the smallest in- dividuals is clearly related to the water temperature. The results suggest that neither the size and depth of a reservoir nor the bottom type effect directly particular snail species. It seems that the impact of these factors is overlapped or modified by cultivation which limits the number and species diversity of snails. As regards ponds in the Upper-Silesian Industrial Region, another limiting factor is industrial water pollution.
