Then the pandemic launched our school into Gifts at a Glance uncharted territory. Since March, our school community has adapted to unprece- dented circumstances in many ways. As you read in the Summer/Fall 2020 issue of The Westonian, Westonians of all ages have risen beautifully to the challenges of this extraordinary time. Teachers, adminis- trators, staff, and students have all done their part. In addition, this report honors the 10.4% of total raised ($150,121) tremendous generosity of Westtown alums, parents, parents of alums, grandparents, were gifts up to $499 and other friends, who stepped forward — in some cases repeatedly — to ensure that our school could provide an education worthy of our mission at this difficult time. Not many people know this, but I’ve always considered myself an artist of sorts. Ever since I was a young kid, I invariably find myself passing the time by doodling, drawing, and, on occasion, even painting. In the space between my paper and pencil, and in those moments when inspiration would strike, my imagination would run amok and these bigger-than-life personas - football players and comic book characters and, of course, professional wrestlers - would come to life. I wasn’t aware of this until much later, but for all those years my mother would quietly steal away my drawings, saving them for all prosperity, and perhaps giving her a way to relive all of those memories of me as a child. That’s exactly what happened to me when she showed me those old sketches of Iron Man and Walter Payton and Fred Flintstone and Hulk Hogan. I found myself instantly transported back to a time where things were simpler and characters were real and the art was pure. I get a lot of really similar feelings when I look at the incredible art that Rob Schamberger has shared with 2 foreward us all. Rob’s passion for art and for professional wrestling struck me immediately as someone that has equally grown to love and appreciate both, and by Adam Pearce truth be told I am extremely jealous of his talents.

Superstars like Joe Mercury and Jamie Nobel (J&J Security), Kane (Director of Operations) and many more already got victimized by Brock Lesnar and suffered broken body parts and multiple surgeries. In fact the only Superstar he hasn’t got his hands on already is the current Champion Seth Rollins, who is called the Architect or the man, who never fails in elaborating a master plan, which aids him to push his career to greater levels. However to push his career this time, he needs to outperform and outsmart the obstacle Brock Lesnar, who will stop at nothing to deliver series of Back Suplexes, which will immediately put Seth Rollins to ‘Suplex City’, to ensure he won’t achieve his goal again.

In what will go down as the single most memorable UFC fight in history, Ronda Rousey was not only defeated, but systematically destroyed by a fighter and a coaching staff that had spent years preparing for that night. On 2/28, Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey were the two co-headliners on a show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The idea was that Holm, a former world boxing champion, would impressively knock out Raquel Pennington, a .500 level fighter who was known for exchanging blows and not taking her down. Rousey was there to face Cat Zingano, a fight that was supposed to be the hardest one of her career. Holm looked unimpressive, barely squeaking by in a split decision. Rousey beat Zingano with an armbar in 14 seconds.
