Hayes [email protected] Pace University Sapienza Università di Roma Christopher Snow [email protected] Pace University New York, NY Abstract Mobile dating application (app) usage has grown exponentially, while becoming more effective at connecting people romantically. Given the sensitive nature of the information users are required to provide, to effectively match a couple, our research sought to understand if app permissions and privacy policies were enough for a user to adequately determine the amount of personal information being collected and shared. Based on a static and dynamic analysis of three popular dating apps for Android and iPhone, our conclusion is that dating app developers are collecting and sharing personal information that extends well beyond publicly stated privacy policies, which tend to be vague at best. Furthermore, the security protocols, utilized by dating app developers, could be deemed relatively inadequate, thereby posing potential risk to both consumers and organizations. While social media companies have been the primary focus for discussions surrounding the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union, our research findings indicate that third- party analytical companies and big data gatherers need to be more closely examined for potential violations. Keeping Al Legal Amitai Etzioni* and Oren Etzioni** ABSTRACT AI programs make numerous decisions on their own, lack transparency, and may change frequently. Hence, unassisted human agents, such as auditors, accountants, inspectors, and police, cannot ensure that Al-guided instruments will abide by the law. This Article suggests that human agents need the assistance of AI oversight programs that analyze and oversee operational AI programs. This Article asks whether operationalAIprograms should be programmed to enable human users to override them; without that, such a move would undermine the legal order. This Article also points out that Al operational programs provide high surveillance capacities and, therefore, are essential for protecting individual rights in the cyber age. This Article closes by discussing the argument that Al-guided instruments, like robots, lead to endangering much more than the legal order-that they may turn on their makers, or even destroy humanity. -

Oren: Well, we are fortunate that AI is basically software with a little sideline into robotics, and so despite working from home, we have been able to stay productive and engaged. It’s just a little bit less fun because one of the things I like to say about AI is that it’s still 99% human intelligence, and so obviously the human interactions are stilted. -

Treatment and differential diagnosis insights for the physician’s consideration in the moments that matter most The role of medical imaging in global health systems is literally fundamental. Like labs, medical images are used at one point or another in almost every high cost, high value episode of care. Echocardiograms, CT scans, mammograms, and x-rays, for example, “atlas” the body and help chart a course forward for a patient’s care team. Imaging precision has improved as a result of technological advancements and breakthroughs in related medical research. Those advancements also bring with them exponential growth in medical imaging data. The capabilities referenced throughout this document are in the research and development phase and are not available for any use, commercial or non-commercial. Any statements and claims related to the capabilities referenced are aspirational only. There were roughly 800 million multi-slice exams performed in the United States in 2015 alone. Those studies generated approximately 60 billion medical images. At those volumes, each of the roughly 31,000 radiologists in the U.S. would have to view an image every two seconds of every working day for an entire year in order to extract potentially life-saving information from a handful of images hidden in a sea of data. 31K 800MM 60B radiologists exams medical images What’s worse, medical images remain largely disconnected from the rest of the relevant data (lab results, patient-similar cases, medical research) inside medical records (and beyond them), making it difficult for physicians to place medical imaging in the context of patient histories that may unlock clues to previously unconsidered treatment pathways. -
