Allegro vivace ii. Adagio grazioso iii. Rondo: Allegretto Note from composer Paul Chihara: Pastoral Reveries is the second piece in a set of four bagatelles inspired by Beethoven piano sonatas. It is based very loosely on his Sonata (no. 15 in D Major), though my little piece is more boogie woogie than classical. I have always loved the Pastoral Sonata, with its lyric and haunting (and fun!) mood changes. My “Reverie” is dedicated to my friend Enrico Elisi. November 13, 2019 (New York) *world premiere We wish to acknowledge this land on which the University of Toronto operates. For thousands of years it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
