This year Minster Bank awarded $9,000 in scholarships. Stephanie Albers of Lehman Catholic High School, Brad Borchers of Minster High School, Todd Carter of Troy High School, Haley Kruse of New Knoxville High School, Mark Miller of Sidney High School, Stephanie Price of Troy Christian High School, Carrie Rinehart of Wapakoneta High School, Christine Schwartz of New Bremen High School, Keith Seitz of Marion Local High School, and Amelia Tompary of St. Marys Memorial High School each received a Minster Bank scholarship based upon their academics and pursuit of a business degree. Stephanie Albers plans to major in Accounting and Finance at Miami University. She is the daughter of David and Marcie Albers of Sidney. Stephanie was involved in Tennis, Band, Academia Team, Class Vice President, School Musical, Pro-Lifeguards, Stock Club, Student Ambassador, SAAC, and Teen Business Leaders Club. Some of her honors and/or awards include First Honors, National Honor Society, Top Accounting I Student, Science Fair Awards, President’s Award for Educational Excellence. Ms. Albers participated in National Young Leaders Conference, OCTM State Tournament of Mathematics, Social Studies Shootout, Homecoming and Prom Courts, and Big Buddies. Brad Borchers, son of Jacque and Kathy Borchers, is a Minster native. Borchers plans to major in Business at the University of Dayton. He was involved in Golf and Basketball. Todd Carter of Troy will be majoring in Economics and Communications at Wittenberg University. He is the son of Daron and Barbara Carter. Carter was in Football, Basketball, Baseball, Weight Lifting, National Honor Society and the Youth Group. Some of Carter’s honors include 4-Time Scholar Athlete, 4-Time National Honor Roll, 4-Time Who’s Who, 2-Time National Youth Leadership Conference Nominee, and 2-Time All GWOC for Football. Haley Kruse plans to attend The Ohio State University majoring in Marketing. She is the daughter of Bob and Deb Kruse of New Knoxville. Kruse participated in Volleyball, Basketball, Track, National Honor Society, Yearbook Staff, Pep Club, German Club, School Play, School Musical, and Choir. Mark Miller, son of Keith and Susan Miller, is from Sidney. He plans to attend Wright State University majoring in Business and Psychology. Some of Miller’s honors include First Team All District in Soccer, 4-Year Letter in Soccer, 1-Year Letter in Track, Academic High Honors, Second Team All District in Soccer, Second Team All GWOC Conference, Best Offensive Player, President’s Award for Educational Excellence, GWOC’s Scholar Athlete Award, State Board of Education Award of Merit, and Edison Community College Dean’s List. Stephanie Price plans to major in Business Management at Indiana Wesleyan University. She is the daughter of Dale and Nancy Price of New Carlisle. Price participated in Cheerleading, 4-H, Adopt-A-Block, Troy Lunch Club Tutoring Program, Troy Christian High School Musical, National Honor Society, and Tijuana Missions Trip. Carrie Rinehart of Wapakoneta is the daughter of Alan and Randi Rinehart. She plans to major in Business at The Ohio State University-Lima. Rinehart was involved in the National Honor Society, Basketball, Track, Cross Country, 4-H, Wapakoneta High School Newspaper Staff, Student Senate, Vice President of Student Senate, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was an American Exchange Student in Germany. Christine Schwartz plans to attend Capital University with a major in Business Finance and then continue on to law school. She is the daughter of Dale and Sandy Schwartz of New Bremen. Schwartz was a member of the National Honor Society, FCCLA, Student Council, Volleyball, Basketball, and Track. Schwartz’s honors include All-Ohio Academic Award, Track State Finalist, and a Buckeye Girls State Delegate. Keith Seitz of Maria Stein is the son of Mark and Lisa Seitz. He plans to major in Business Management at the Wright State University Lake Campus. Seitz was involved in Math and Science Club, FTA, Art Club, Industrial Arts Club, Varsity M, Pep Club, CYO, Football, Ohio Math League, Chickasaw Community Mutual Fire Company Jr. Firefighter, and was on the Honor Roll. Amelia Tompary plans to attend Miami University with a major in Business and Marketing. She is the daughter of Mark and Sigrid Tompary of St. Marys. Tompary was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, DECA, Varsity Soccer, School Newspaper Staff, Leadership Committee, Yearbook Staff, Goodfellows, and was Class President.
