This Camp offers traditional Sport and Play Camp activities along with an extra 1.5 hours per day in the pool learning new water activities, including; Mermaid Swimming, Water Polo, Diving, Underwater Snorkelling and Scuba*. Did you know:

• You can now drop off up to 250 kg (550 lbs) of leaf and yard recycling to any of our landfill sites free of charge. Leaf and yard curbside collection is available on certain dates in June and November 2019, refer to your Municipal Waste Calendar or visit our website for details. • Our Lindsay Ops landfill site has many recycling programs in place, such as a mattress recycling program, a construction and demolition program and a woodchip recycling program. • Throughout the spring and into the summer, we host four different Round-Up recycling days. These event days are your opportunity to drop off certain recyclable materials for free at select locations. Refer to page 39 of your Municipal Waste Calendar for more information.

Integrated Waste Management Strategy

In 2019, the municipality will be updating our Integrated Waste Management Strategy. We are looking for public input on the current strategy and what residents would like to see included in the updated plan. Starfish Orientation to water for babies and their parent/caregiver. 4 TO 12 MONTHS To enter this level, babies must be able to hold their head up.

The goals are to help babies experience buoyancy and movement through songs and play in the water and to teach the parent/caregiver age-specific water safety.

Duck Orientation to water for toddlers and their parent/caregiver. 12 TO 24 MONTHS Swimmers learn how to use floating objects for support and explore different water movements through games, songs and active water play. The parent/caregiver also learns age-specific water safety.

Sea Turtle Orientation to water for toddlers and their parent/caregiver. 24 TO 36 MONTHS Swimmers learn through fun games and songs how to combine skills, kick with a buoyant object and how to perform basic floats, glides and kicks.

Using games and activities, swimmers learn to open their eyes under water, further develop Sea Otter basic floats and glides and swim 1 metre. They also learn age-appropriate water safety skills. 3 YEARS TO 5 YEARS Swimmers are evaluated based on performance criteria and progress to Salamander once all criteria have been successfully completed.

Using games and activities, swimmers learn to swim 2 metres, further develop basic floats Salamander and increase their distance on front and back glide. Front swim and roll-over glide are also 3 YEARS TO 5 YEARS included and swimmers learn appropriate water safety skills such as how to jump into chest-deep water and how to use a Personal Flotation Device (PFD).

Safety skills development includes water orientation, safe entries and exits and only swimming when an adult is present.

Swimmers are evaluated based on performance criteria and progress to Sunfish once all criteria have been successfully completed.

Using games and activities, swimmers learn to swim 5 metres, increase their distance using buoyant Sunfish objects, increase their front and back glide with kick and develop their roll-over glide, side glide 3 YEARS TO 5 YEARS and front swim. Safety skills include deep-water skills and use of Personal Flotation Device (PFD).

Safety skills development such as water orientation, safe entries and exits and always asking for permission before going near the water.

Swimmers are evaluated based on performance criteria and progress to Crocodile once all criteria have been successfully completed.

Through games and other fun activities, swimmers learn to swim 5 metres on their front and back, Crocodile perform a dolphin kick and begin using rhythmic breathing. They also progress with kicking drills 4 TO 6 YEARS and increase their swimming distance to 10 metres.

Safety skills include jumping into deep-water and performing surface support for 10 seconds, recognizing when a swimmer needs help and using a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) in deep water.

Swimmers are evaluated based on performance criteria and progress to Whale once all criteria have been successfully completed.

Through fun activities, swimmers perform a front and back swim for 10 metres. Swimmers work on Whale developing their flutter kick and perform a distance swim of 15 metres. 4 TO 6 YEARS Safety skills include identifying safe swimming areas, jumping into deep water, swimming 5 metres, surface support for 20 seconds and return to safety, throwing assists and sitting dives.

The Diving Board is open. Lifejackets, noodles, and balls are allowed in the Shallow End of the Large Pool and in the Small Pool. Adult Swim: This swim provides the opportunity for those 15 years and older to chat, relax and complete their personal fitness programs. This is a quiet swim. Lanes are available for swimming lengths and equipment such as noodles, float belts, hand weights, pull-buoys and flutter boards are available for fitness purposes.
