OVERVIEW
I’m a freelance cameraman/producer who started out shooting and editing news in the Northern Territory’s Outback. Shooting locations in those early days ranged as far West as the Kimberley and as far East as Cape York Peninsular in Northern Australia.
The 1990’s saw a move to London and over the next few years I filmed everything from news & current affairs to sports documentaries and music videos in over 50 countries. Whilst based in Europe, I shot behind the scenes featurettes for movies like “Titanic”, “Emma”, “101 Dalmatians” “Boogie Nights” and “A Fish Called Wanda”
A stint in London News saw me working to tight deadlines, shooting, editing and up-linking stories for the London News Network on a daily basis. I worked for the UK based IMG production arm TRANS WORLD INTERNATIONAL for many years after that.
Returning to Australia, I’ve worked extensively throughout the Australian television industry on various long form projects including “Journeys To The Ends of the Earth”, “ATLAS: AUSTRALIA REVEALED” “LOVE IT OR LIST IT”, Al Gore’s “CLIMATE REALITY PROJECT” and “WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?”
I’ve received numerous Australian Cinematographer Society awards for camerawork and the television program I currently serve as Director of Photography on, “LOVE IT OR LIST IT AUSTRALIA”, scored a Gold AACTA Award in 2019 for the category BEST LIFESTYLE PROGRAM.
I’m also a CASA ReOC holder and try to incorporate drone photography into most of my projects.
My forte is bringing a cinematic aesthetic to the films I work on.
