Babel happens before Peleg is born From the Bible Knowledge Commentary (Gen 10:21-31) The note on Eber’s son Peleg—that in his time the earth was divided—seems to pinpoint the Babel experience (11:1–9). The verb pālaḡ is used in the Old Testament to describe division into languages. Peleg is the first recorded in the Shem's genealogy to have died after the flood. (Gen 11:10-32).
