CORE VALUE: MISSIONAL COMMUNITY Jesus frames His ministry around two words: FOLLOW & GO. Everything starts with follow & ends with go. • Matthew 4:19 - Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” • Matthew 28:19 – “Go therefore and make disciples….” Genesis 12:1-4 “Now the LORD had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’ 4 So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy- five years old when he departed from Haran.” What is a “missional community”? Requirements for Small Groups • 1 Micro-Mission every 8-12 weeks • Prayer for group, Mosaic, and for lost. • The Open Chair at every meeting • Elder approved curriculum “Every Christian is a sent one. There is no such thing as an unsent Christian.” – Alan Hirsch .
