"And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third, teachers..." 1 Corinthians 12:28. Tongues on Fire Authored by Pastor Leslie Barnett. https:// newprophecymovement.com.au INTRODUCTION "The Apostle" is a must-read for those who are curious to know the driving force behind Scott Morrison's Pentecostal faith and the Church which he and his family attend. Born 13/05/58 Scott Morrison was raised an Anglican who later became a Pentecostal and now attends the Horizon Church which is affiliated with the (ACC ) Australian branch of the (AoG) Assemblies of God. Leslie says that Morrison has shown the Australian public strong leadership, not only when advocating for religious freedom, but when handling the Coronavirus epidemic. But lurking over Morrison's Christian ethics lies a dark cloud of suspicion when refusing to answer questions over his invite to Brian Houston's accompaniment to a White House function; and how when pressured by the Labor opposition and 2GB talk back radio confirmed the once deemed rumour to be true. The author says; that according to Labour, Morison's association with Brian Houston is simply a vote winner despite findings of the 2014 royal commission into child sexual abuse whereby Brain's indictment for harboring his fathers pedophilia is still pending. This indictment says Brain Houston's critics will never succeed due to Brains standing as one of the world’s most powerful pastors when building a multi million dollar tax free Hillsong empire; which pulls 100,000 people around the world into mega-churches each weekend to shows of glitz and glamour. With politics aside, Pastor Leslie's book focuses on his experience having been involved in the 1970s with the AoG Assembles of God and in the 1990s with the Australian Christian Churches. The author explains; that when the Holy Spirit was being poured out in the 1970s families were reunited, long-severed friend-ships reconciled and hearts flowed together in true fellowship in the Lord. And even more than that, along with the spirit of unity and love came the spirit of sacrifice and the wondrous spirit of liberty." "But today's modern Church tongues is rarely heard, not even from Scott Morrison who like his mentor Brian Houston, believes it to be unnecessary leaving classical Pentecostals to question: "where has the public awareness of the Spirit gone?"- says Pastor Barnett. Leslie explains ; by ACC merging with the (ARM) Apostolic Reform Movement brought with them apostles, and prophets who have offended classical AoG Pentecostals when substituting tongues interpretation for a prophetic "Word of knowledge." To sum up the problem Leslie had this to say:" Today's Pentecostalism is not about prayer, study, or evangelising but hipster jeans, designer trainers, Brooklyn beards, and sleeve tattoos. And places of worship are no longer the traditional style Church but multi million dollar 1000 seat auditoriums with latte coffee machines, concert lighting, and smoking machines. A.C.C Ministers model themselves on Brian Houston with designer jeans, and tailored suit Jackets with some wearing leathers while riding motorbikes as an impression of trendiness. Worse, Pentecostal music is not your traditional style worship songs but more on the lines of Justin Bieber love songs. And charity is governed by the principals of the "Prosperity gospel". Ref Charter 20. Of special interest is chapter seventeen and twenty one whereby Pastor Barnett provides a spiritual explanation of how Brett Peter Cowen and Frank Houston's demonic Spirit went undetected. And in Chapter twenty five when a couple of Christians survived 9/11 by obeying God rather than man. Last but not least is chapter thirty three which is dedicated to “the Mysterious Messengers”- the angels of God, who have played a vital role in producing this work. A N O TE FRO M TH E A UTHO R Dear brethren, welcome to the world of apologetics. By choosing this publication you must be a person who is searching for answers. I commend you for your curiosity and openness in desiring to learn more about the one true God whom you serve. I pray that that in reading this book your eyes will be open and your ears attuned in unveiling of the mysteries of the Godhead bodily. The King James Version of Matthew 13:16 puts it nicely; o “But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.” disclaimer Regardless of whether you are an advocate or a critic of Pentecostalism my intention in writing this book isn’t to judge or condemn any religion by exposing what I believe to be theological errors. On the contrary, I have no animosity toward my fellow Christians, only gratitude for the opportunity to learn from their many diverse tenets. feedback • “Thank you, Pastor Leslie, for the encouragement and teaching on true prayer. Praying without ceasing --some days I seem to be doing that, as you describe.”—Christina, of Adelaide SA. • “The church is a training ground? -It sure is!” Pastor Barnett I am going to read your book a second time. I personally am being led deeper into the Spirit of Pentecost. I can’t explain this to family and friends. Your book has given me much to think over. I attend an AOG megachurch. But where has their public acknowledgment of the ministry of the Spirit gone?” —Pastor Dan, of Minnesota USA. • “I love the prayer lines—it is wonderful to pray, occasionally in tongues, with anonymous brothers and sisters in Christ.”—Peter, of Sydney Australia. (Ephesians 5:7) As in keeping with the prophecy in Daniel 12:4, starting at Pentecost 33 CE man’s understanding of scripture began to increase. Church historians tell us that early church fathers such as Irenaeus, Tertullian, Eusebius, Chrysostom of Constantinople and Augustine of Hippo were among many who experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues in accordance with 1 Corinthians 14. But by the end of the fifth century due to schism within the church these gifts waned. It was during this period of time that due to the lack of scholarship, textual flaws in the reproductive process of the original text lead to erroneous interpretations which continued on into the medieval period. Many of these errors became dogmas rendered from the apocrypha and the infamous Alexandrian text which, according to church
