1 Academics

At Wagner College, we believe in an approach to college learning that empowers students to achieve success in today’s complex, diverse, and ever-changing world. That’s why we created the Wagner Plan for the Practical Liberal Arts, our four-year college curriculum. It’s more than a set of classes. It’s a plan that gives students the opportunity not only to gain knowledge, but also to integrate what they are learning and apply it to real-life problems. Through the Wagner Plan’s learning-by-doing approach, students develop a sense of social responsibility as well as strong intellectual and practical skills: communication, analysis, problem-solving, and leadership.

General Education Requirements There are four categories of general education requirements in the Wagner Plan for the Practical Liberal Arts: 1. Learning Communities 2. Foundations 4. Disciplinary Perspectives A Learning Community (LC) is a set of linked Courses in writing, math, computer sciences, These courses give students a breadth of courses. 4 Study Abroad Left: Expanding Your Horizons in Kenya; below: Professor Mohammad Alauddin teaches about environmental pollution and health during the EYH trip to Bangladesh.

Wagner College encourages all students to study abroad and offers both short-term and long- term options through national and international programs. The Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) program enables students to take a semester- long course on campus with a travel component of 7–10 days, typically during a College break period. The EYH courses are led by members of the Wagner faculty, and all students, including those in their first year, are eligible to apply. Courses vary yearly, and past destinations have included Bangladesh, Colombia, England, Israel, Kenya, and Spain. Students may also opt for a semester or year abroad through programs affiliated with the College. These programs permit students to study abroad while continuing to pay Wagner tuition (with some additional fees, depending on the location and cost of the program) and retaining their Wagner financial aid package and scholarships. Popular destinations include Spain, France, the UK, Italy, Australia, South American countries, and Israel. The diversity of our offerings allows Wagner College students to study abroad nearly anywhere in the world.

Center for Intercultural Advancement

The Center for Intercultural Advancement creates opportunities for social justice dialogue, shares information about different cultures, and assists with the internationalization and diversification of the campus. Students may come here for study abroad advisement, and it serves as the campus resource for student, faculty, and scholar visa acquisition and compliance information.

Center for Leadership and Community Engagement

Interested in being part of the larger and community through service and civic engagement? The IMPACT (Inspiring Mutuality, Participation and Civic Transformation) Scholars program is designed for students who have a passion for community service and a desire to advance their commitment to civic engagement.
