Record ings of late have been on a highly competitive level and from reports of country radio personalities across the country they have never been so impressed with the quality of Canadian country recordings. George Taylor's Rodeo Record company has had a great deal of success with their recent singles and album releases. "Come Home Newfoundlander" by Tom Jim and Garth, although not strictly in the country vein, has seen action on charts from coast to coast. The Irwin Prescott single of "The Auc tioneer" and his subsequent album release have been widely acclaimed and has established Irwin as a country artist to watch. Angus Walker, another Rodeo artist (on Melbourne) has also gained much re cognition as an up and coming country singeL One of the newest gal country singer, Shirley Ann is now gaining country DJ fans across the country with her Melbourne single of "Turn Me Around". The Arc Volume 5, No. 10 folks have hit a winning streak with their country artists as well. Phil Anderson, President of Arc, has found much more attention being given by Canadians to their Canadian country artists. Bert Cuff's single release of "Isle Of Newfoundland" has sold over 5000 in Newfoundland alone. Jimmy James, Donn Reynolds and Ame Maclaren have all experienced good reaction across the country.
