Downloading & Using Skype for Business The Dartmouth Institute uses Skype for Business as the preferred Web Conferencing tool You can download the Windows or Mac App for free if you have a Dartmouth NetID. Mac System Requirements COMPONENT REQUIREMENT Processor Intel processor, Core 2 Duo or higher Memory 2 GB RAM Hard disk 1.5 GB of available hard disk space Display 1280 x 800 1280 by 800 or higher resolution Operating system Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan or later Browser Safari 5 or later Windows System Requirements COMPONENT REQUIREMENT Computer and Minimum 1.6 gigahertz (GHz) or faster processor. We recommend 2.0 processor gigahertz (32 bit or 64 bit). Install Skype for Business OPTION 1: NAVIGATE VIA TYPING THE WEB ADDRESS OPTION 2: STARTING FROM YOUR DARTMOUTH EMAIL SCREEN OPTION 1: NAVIGATE VIA TYPING THE WEB ADDRESS STEP 1: TYPE https://www.office.com into your Web Browser STEP 2: CLICK the SIGN IN Button This step is skipped if you are already signed into your office365 account OPTION 2: NAVIGATE FROM YOUR DARTMOUTH EMAIL STEP 1: CLICK on the Settings Gear STEP 2: SCROLL down & SELECT Office365 OPTION 1: NAVIGATE VIA TYPING THE WEB ADDRESS STEP 1: TYPE https://www.office.com into your Web Browser STEP 2: CLICK the SIGN IN Button This step is skipped if you’re already signed into your office365 account Enter your Dartmouth email credentials (ex. [email protected]) OPTION 1: NAVIGATE VIA TYPING THE WEB ADDRESS BELOW Once you’re logged in, CLICK the ”Other installs” Button CLICK the “Skype for Business” CLICK the “Install” Button Button OPTION 2: STARTING FROM YOUR DARTMOUTH EMAIL SCREEN CLICK on the Settings Gear SCROLL down & SELECT Office 365 Once there, CLICK the ”Install software” Button CLICK the “Skype for Business” CLICK the “Install” Button Button Open the Skype for Business application after installation is complete Note, the difference between Skype, and Skype for Business logos. Skype for Business Skype To Login into Skype for Business: Enter your Dartmouth EMAIL ADDRESS Enter your Dartmouth email PASSWORD Enter your Dartmouth NETID How to start a Video call in Skype for Business Start a Video call by CLICKING TYPE their Dartmouth email the “Contacts” button and address and CLICK their name searching for the person you’d after they pop up like to call Starting a Video Call CLICK the Camera Icon to begin your call CLICK the CAMERA Button to start your Webcam CLICK the MONITOR Button to share your Screen. When you initiate a call, your microphone is enabled Blue denotes enabled Interactive Features CLICK Chat Bubble in the Top Right to utilize the chat feature CLICK the Person with the Plus Button in the Top Right to invite more people to the call CLICK the Hang Up Button when your call is done!.
