Schmit , Deacon Frey og Vince Gill) (c) George Holz 26-09-2018 17:10 CEST The Eagles gir ut omfattende samling med musikalsk arv Eagles har gjennom årene skapt en fantastisk musikalsk arv, en karriere som spenner over 40 år, og som har gitt dem seks Nr. 1 album i USA, mer en et dusin Topp 40 hits samt seks GRAMMY AWARDS. Denne høsten vil deluxe- utgivelsen LEGACY gi oss all den musikken som gjorde Eagles til et av de mest selgende band i musikkhistorien. Den 2. November kommer det to versjoner av LEGACY i henholdsvis CD og vinyl format. Den første inneholder 12 CDer og inkluderer alle syv studio albumene, tre live album og et samlealbum av singler og B-sider. Den inneholder også to konsert videoer: Hell Freezes Over (DVD) og Farewell Tour: Live From Melbourne (Blu-ray). Den andre har all musikken fra CD’ene samlet på 15 LP’er, men uten videoene. Begge utgivelsene kommer i en flott ‘slipcase’ med en 54-siders bok fyllt med sjeldne foto og andre gjennstander fra hele deres karriere. Bob Ludwig, som flere ganger har fått Grammy priser, har remasteret Hell Freezes Over og Millennium Concert spesielt for LEGACY. Begge album – samt en rekkke av de andre låtene på Singles and B-Sidessamleren – blir utgitt for første gang på vinyl. Walsh had played with many bands but it wasn’t until 1969 when he joined the Cleveland based power trio, The James Gang that he got a taste of sweet success. The Gang released four albums in the early 70’s … two of which went gold. Joe then decided to head west to Colorado where he put together the trio, Barnstorm in 1972 and released two albums. Still feeling there was something more for him, Joe released his first solo album in 1974. So What proved Joe a legitimate solo act with a limitless career on the horizon. Then in 1976, he was asked by the Eagles to replace guitarist Bernie Leadon bringing a harder rock sound to the group. At the end of the year, they released their fifth studio album, Hotel California which went gold reaching #1 on the Billboard Charts followed by The Long Run (1979) and Eagles Live (1980) reaching Billboard’s #1 and #6 respectively. At the same time, Joe released two solo albums ...You Can’t Argue With a Sick Mind (1976) and But Seriously Folks (1978) which boasted the notorious hit, “Life’s Been Good”. During the 14-year hiatus of the Eagles, Joe focussed on his solo career releasing several albums including There Goes The Neighborhood (1981), The Confessor (1985) and Ordinary Average Guy (1991).

Country Music Cultural and Historic Background Information Country music, also called country and western, is a style of American popular music that originated in rural areas of the South and West in the early 20th century. The term country and western music (later shortened to country music) was adopted by the recording industry in 1949 to replace the offensive label hillbilly music. Ultimately, country music’s origins lie in the ballads, folk songs, and popular songs of the English, Scots, and Irish settlers of the Appalachians and other parts of the South. In the early 1920s the traditional string-band music of the Southern mountain regions began to be commercially recorded, with Fiddlin’ John Carson garnering the genre’s first hit record in 1923. The vigour and realism of the rural songs, many lyrics of which were rather impersonal narratives of tragedies pointing to a stern Calvinist moral, stood in marked contrast to the often-mawkish sentimentality of much of the popular music of the day. More important than recordings for the growth of country music was broadcast radio. Small radio stations appeared in the larger Southern and Midwestern cities in the 1920s, and many devoted parts of their airtime to live or recorded music suited to white rural audiences. Two regular programs of great influence were the “National Barn Dance” from Chicago, begun in 1924, and the “Grand Ole Opry” from Nashville, begun in 1925. The immediate popularity of such programs encouraged more recordings and the appearance of talented musicians from the hills at radio and record studios. Among these were the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers, whose performances strongly influenced later musicians.
