Growing faith is the work of the Church. It was the heart of Jesus’ own mission Living the Gospel to help us human beings connect with our divine source to help us age with goodness, wisdom and peace. All Are Welcome! One of the paths Divine Child Parish has chosen to present a catechesis is “Now the whole group of those who believed through a Faith Sharing Group. Faith Sharing Groups offer a wonderful were of one heart and soul…..” Acts 4:32 opportunity to connect with other parishioners while enriching our faith. People involved in these groups consistently cite a greater feeling of community as well as better clarity in what it means to live out their faith on a daily basis.

Our group began Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 9:15 am – 10:15 am immediately following the 8:30 am Mass in the Gathering Room. Groups will meet every Thursday, unless there is a funeral. Materials will be provided. We will be using the handout “Sunday by Sunday” by Good Ground Press. The morning will be filled with prayer, song, Gospel reading and small group discussion. No formal registration is required. There will be a sign-up sheet each day. Feel free to come as often as possible or whenever you are able. You are always welcome!

The Holy Spirit is present to life’s deserts and when we experience his presence it changes our spiritual life. The desert is no longer a place to be feared, but can be a profound encounter with Jesus.” Fr. Dave Pivonka

Meet Candidate Stephanie Schick: Growing up in the Lutheran church I had always felt that something was missing in my religious life. It wasn’t until my now husband, Nathaniel took me to Divine Child that I realized I was always meant to be Catholic. Nathaniel and I were married in the , and we knew that we wanted to raise our son, Ethan to be Catholic. It has taken me a few more years than I would have liked to begin the RCIA process, with moving to Texas and then back here, but I am thankful I finally started my religious journey. I am ready to finish this process and continue to grow and strengthen my relationship with the Lord with my family by my side.

Stephanie’s Sponsor Ann Randall: I am so happy that Stephanie asked me to be her sponsor. The first time I met Stephanie was after Mass, when she and Nathaniel just started dating. I’m Nathaniel’s Godmother, so I watched him grow up and I knew when I met Stephanie that day, they were meant to be together. I’m a lifelong Catholic of Polish Heritage. Many parts of the Catholic faith are inseparable from my upbringing, family traditions and heritage. RCIA is a great learning experience, helping me understand many of the reasons “why.” It is wonderful to share Stephanie’s journey and also support Stephanie and Nathaniel as they grow as a couple and a family.

Healing Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, healer of our souls and bodies, during your life on earth you went about doing good, healing every manner of sickness and disease, strengthening, curing, comforting, and consoling.

Healer of our broken souls and bodies, lay your healing hand upon me, and by your grace restore me to good health that I may praise you without ceasing and serve you among your holy people for many years to come.

We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
