• 1 I finished the season with the fewest losses in program 2 history; and • 3 WHEREAS, the Iowa State Cyclones Women's Basketball 4 Team advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen seeded no. 3, 5 set an NCAA Midwest Region record with 15 three- 6 pointers in the game against Saint Francis, and lost 7 the semifinal game to Penn State by only one point 8 made within the last 15 seconds of the game; and 9 WHEREAS, the Iowa State Cyclones Women's Basketball 10 Team consistently thrilled spectators and drew 11 tremendous attendance and support from its fans, 12 setting Big 12 Conference and NCAA Tournament 13 attendance records; and 14 WHEREAS, the Iowa State Cyclones Women's Basketball 15 Team and Coach Bill Fennelly and the coaching stdff 16 delighted Iowans with their hard work, teamwork, and 17 victories; NOW THEREFORE, 18 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPESENTATIVES, That 19 the House of Representatives congratulates Coach Bill • 20 Fennelly and the Iowa State Cyclones Women's 21 Basketball Team on their successful season, thanks 22 them for the honor and excitement they brought to the 23 State of Iowa, and wishes them the very best in the 24 future. 25 26 27 28 29 30
