Archbishop Philip Tartaglia marked the 40th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood at Lourdes with Glasgow pilgrims

Shaping Glasgow pilgrims

ORE than 400 pilgrims from Glasgow Archdiocese made the trip to Lourdes in July as they took in the summer sun—and rain—on a spiritual journey of Faith. Three aircraft were needed to take the pilgrims Mon the journey and amongst them were a group from St Martin of Tour’s in Renton, a group from St Joseph’s Church in Helensburgh, the St Margaret of Scotland Youth Group—accompa- nied by group chaplain Fr John Convery—and pupils from St Aloysius College. Fr Frank Wilson, chaplain to St Margaret’s Hospice in Clydebank, a retired priest and retired GP, helped take charge of one of the pilgrimage planes, earning him the affectionate moniker of Flight Commander Wilson, a name the SCO is reliably informed he took great delight in.
