CONFESSION OF SINS M: Dear friends, let us approach God with a true heart and confess our sins, asking him in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to forgive us. C: Lord of life, I confess that I am by nature dead in sin. For faithless worrying and selfish pride, For sins of habit and sins of choice, For the evil I have done and the good I have failed to do, You should cast me away from your presence forever. O Lord, I am sorry for my sins. Forgive me, for Jesus’ sake. You shower the land with good weather, you bestow wealth upon the nations, you endow our bodies with health and our minds with knowledge. Beyond all these graces, you have demonstrated your own mercy in your Son Jesus Christ. FIRST LESSON: Isaiah 6:1-8 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. WOMEN: I will utter things from of old,* what we have heard and what our fathers have told us. STUDENTS: We will not hide them from our children;* we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD. Refrain MEN: The LORD decreed statutes for Jacob* and established the law in Israel, WOMEN: so the next generation would know them,* and they in turn would tell their children. STUDENTS: Then they would put their trust in God* and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands. Refrain SECOND LESSON: Ephesians 3:7-12 I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ, and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
