Using Mobility Scooters following screening:

There is no legal eyesight requirement to drive mobility scooters or powered wheelchairs, but you should be able to read a car’s registration number from a distance of 12.3 metres (40 feet). You must check that you can still do this regularly.

Driving and Operation of Heavy Machinery:

Your eyes will be dilated using drops which make your eye sight blurred; therefore you may not be legal to drive. You should not attempt to drive until the effects of the drops have worn-off, which can take 4-6 hours.

What to bring with you to your appointment:

 A pair of sunglasses - Your eyes will be sensitive to light following screening  Bring your distance glasses to help you read the Vision Chart  Bring a Friend, Relative or carer if you need assistance
