Overnight in LeClaire, Iowa and dinner on your own. Day 2 - At 7:00 a.m. we’ll board the Riverboat Twilight, the Most Elegant Riverboat to be launched in the last 100 years! www.riverboattwilight.com The Twilight was designed as a replica of the lavish Victorian of over a century ago. Her unique rounded stern and ornate architectural detailing are reminders of those classic riverboats Mark Twain called “Floating Pal- aces”. Fast, elegant and quiet as she slips through the water, there are three decks with dining salons and sundecks with lounge chairs to sightsee and relax in the sun. Of course, air conditioned for your comfort. We’ll cruise the Mighty Mississippi all day from 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included, along with entertainment and time to enjoy friends and relax and take it all in. Day 3 - Visit the Monks of New Melleray Abbey, and home of Trappist Caskets. The Monestary was founded in 1849. New Melleray is a community of Roman Catholic monks, which dates back to the mid 1800’s of Mount Melleray Abbey, Ireland. Watch the monks in their morning prayer. Among other beliefs. The Trappist Monks honor the “Code of Silence”. After the prayer, we’ll begin a guided tour of the Trappist Caskets, where the monks support themselves and supply employment to local men and women by making and selling simple wooden caskets and urns of exceptional quality. Check out their site and learn more at www.newmelleray.org . At 11:00 a.m. we’ll reboard the Riverboat Twilight our return cruise on the Mississippi River. It is one of the longest in the world and flows through Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Prepare for another memorable day of sightseeing, entertainment, relaxing and lunch and dinner are included. Over- night back in LeClaire, Iowa. Day 4 - John Deere is an iconic name in the Quad Cities of Illinois. This morning we’ll feature two Deere highlights. Take a guided tram tour (no walking) of the John Deere Harvester Works. Home of John Deere’s largest combine factory and front end equipment. OR Visit is the John Deere Pavilion and test your skills in the state-of-the-art simulators. Explore some of the biggest John Deere ma- chines—from combines to dozers, and learn how they change lives around the world. Early afternoon head for home.
