Reading Council • Jason Belinkie, Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field coach, was selected as a 2016 recipient of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition Community Leadership Award. In addition, he was a finalist for the Brooks Inspiring Coach of the Year, • Mike Riley, Director of Athletics, and Jessica Matula, Athletic Trainer, were published in Hayidion, RAVSAK’s publication, with an article entitled ‘Sports Medicine And Athletic Training: Living Our Values, Expanding Our Mission.’ • Deborah Feigenson, 6th-grade teacher, had a video portfolio entry selected by the National Board for inclusion in ATLAS®, an online resource that showcases accomplished teachers in action. • Eytan Apter, Upper School History Teacher, will be recognized at the 2016 National Council on Social Studies Miriam Minsk ‘17 at the 2016 Junior Annual Conference for his peer-reviewed clinic proposal, ‘Teaching Race and Membership in a Suburban Science & Humanities Symposium Jewish Day School.’ • Paul Blank, Upper School Jewish Text Teacher, was named a presenter for the 19th International Conference of the Jewish Law Association at Tel Aviv University. • Deby Kijak, Upper School Spanish Teacher, was selected to present at the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese National Conference. • Sue Rexford, Director of College Guidance, received the Richard L. Apperson Award from the Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling. • Elizabeth Rosenberg, 4th-grade teacher, and Kim Sherk, Language Arts Enrichment Specialist, presented at the State of Maryland International Reading Council.
