Theoretical and Experimental Study of Friction Emulation and Compensation Theoretical and experimental study of friction emulation and compensation By Tore Bakka Johannes Bächer Thesis submitted in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree Master of Science in Mechatronics Faculty of Engineering and Science University of Agder Grimstad May 2010 Abstract This project deals with hydraulics, mechanics, electronics, dynamic modeling and control theory. The focus is on constructing a test rigg in order to to emulate desired friction and compensate for this with a control loop. The rigg is modeled in matlab/simulink and at last compared to the physical rigg. The rigg reads sensor values and control the servo valves via a CompactRIO. The controllers that are made and implemented in the matlab/simulink model are PI and LQR tracking with integral action. In 1885, the late Mr. Pierre Louis Jouy, ttien an assistant to the United States National Museum, visited Korea from Japan, making a considerable collection of fishes for the United States National Museum. We give in this paper a list of the species contained in that collection and those obtained by Ensign J. B. Bernadou, U. S. N., in the vicinity of Chemulpo, where he collected from September, 1884, till April, 1885, with descriptions of those new to science. It is evident that the marine fauna of Korea is essentially that of Japan, while that of the rivers is different as to species, and is as yet practically unknown. A single specimen (150.0 mm standard length) of the scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae), Scorpaena onaria, was collected off Bitung, northern Sulawesi, Indonesia. The species has previously been known only from East Asia and Australasia and been considered to represent an antitropical distribution; thus the Indonesian specimen is described herein as the first record of S. onaria from the western central Pacific Ocean. The Indonesian specimen indicates that S. onaria is widely and continuously distributed in the western Pacific where it ranges from Korea and Japan to Australia and New Zealand.
