Tamalpa This That.Pdf The next PAUSATF Race will be on Sunday, August 1, 2021, as the Skyline 50K will mark the resumption of the PAUSATF Ultra Grand Prix Races for the 2021 Racing Season. It appears as if we may be able to score several Tamalpa Teams in this 50K Race. On Saturday, August 21, 2021 the PAUSATF Cross Country Grand Prix resumes with the 20th Annual UC Santa Cruz XC Challenge . I have attached a current listing of Tamalpa Runners who have their 2021 USATF Cards and can score for a Tamalpa Team in a PAUSATF Race. This listing now shows 79 Tamalpa Runners who currently have their 2021 USATF Cards. If you plan to run PAUSATF Races in 2021 and want to score for your Tamalpa Team, please go to the USATF Website, https://www.usatf.org/, and signup for or renew your USATF Card. When you sign up for your card be sure to list Tamalpa, Club #100, as your Running Club. If you do not list Tamalpa as your Running Club you will be considered UNATTACHED and will not be able to score for a Tamalpa Team. If you are listed as UNATTACHED, you will NOT be able to score for your Tamalpa Team until your USATF Card is changed to list Tamalpa as your Club. The switch to Tamalpa will not allow you to score for Tamalpa if your card did not show Tamalpa as your Club when you ran the Race. I have highlighted in red the twenty four runners who have been added to the Tamalpa Roster in the past few weeks. Tamalpa This & That 1. PA Grand Prix Racing for 2021 continues on 8/1/21, 8/21/21 & 11/14/21- Tamalpa Team Racing for 2021 on the PAUSATF Road Racing, Cross Country & MUT Circuits is scheduled to run from 2/27/21 through 12/19/21. Unfortunately the COVID-19 Pandemic has disrupted the Racing Circuit considerably, but, hopefully we will have races to run in 2021. Tamalpa tries to field scoring teams in the PAUSATF Races whenever possible. The next race on the MUT Grand Prix is the Skyline 50K on August 1, 2021. The Cross-Country Grand Prix starts with the 20th Annual UC Santa Cruz XC Challenge on 8/21/21. The next Scheduled Road Racing Grand Prix Race for 2021 is the Clarksburg Half Marathon on 11/14/21. We had a Good Racing Season in 2019, but 2020 was a disaster with all of the races that were cancelled due to Covid-19. Hopefully things will change in 2021. We need to do our best to have Tamalpa Scoring teams at all of the races that are run in 2021! To score for your Tamalpa racing team, you will need to have a 2021 USATF card. Make sure you have your 2021 USATF card and get out and run for your Tamalpa racing team. Make sure you wear a Tamalpa uniform top in all PA races. 2. • Runners in Their Forties Dominate Ultra-Marathons from 50 to 3,100 Miles
CLINICAL SCIENCE Runners in their forties dominate ultra-marathons from 50 to 3,100 miles Matthias Alexander Zingg,I Christoph Alexander Ru¨ st,I Thomas Rosemann,I Romuald Lepers,II Beat KnechtleIII I University of Zurich, Institute of General Practice and for Health Services Research, Zurich, Switzerland. II University of Burgundy, Faculty of Sport Sciences, INSERM U1093, Dijon, France. III Gesundheitszentrum St. Gallen, St. Gallen, Switzerland. OBJECTIVES: This study investigated performance trends and the age of peak running speed in ultra-marathons from 50 to 3,100 miles. METHODS: The running speed and age of the fastest competitors in 50-, 100-, 200-, 1,000- and 3,100-mile events held worldwide from 1971 to 2012 were analyzed using single- and multi-level regression analyses. RESULTS: The number of events and competitors increased exponentially in 50- and 100-mile events. For the annual fastest runners, women improved in 50-mile events, but not men. In 100-mile events, both women and men improved their performance. In 1,000-mile events, men became slower. For the annual top ten runners, women improved in 50- and 100-mile events, whereas the performance of men remained unchanged in 50- and 3,100-mile events but improved in 100-mile events. The age of the annual fastest runners was approximately 35 years for both women and men in 50-mile events and approximately 35 years for women in 100-mile events. For men, the age of the annual fastest runners in 100-mile events was higher at 38 years. For the annual fastest runners of 1,000-mile events, the women were approximately 43 years of age, whereas for men, the age increased to 48 years of age.

She has experienced the transition, slipping into the new role MR Poovamma (Photo: 2014 Incheon Asian Games @Getty) effortlessly and enjoying the process, too. “It has been a different experience over the past couple of years. Till 2017, I was part of a squad that had runners who were either as old as me or a couple of years older. But now, most of the girls in the team are six or seven years younger than I am,” she says from Patiala. “On the track they see me as a competitor but outside, they look up to me like a member of their family.” The lockdown, forced by the Covid-19 outbreak, and the aftermath have given her the opportunity to don the leadership mantle. “For a couple of months, I managed the workout of the other girls. I enjoyed the role assigned to me,” says the 30-year-old. “We were able to maintain our fitness even during lockdown.” Poovamma reveals that the women’s relay squad trained in the lawn in the hostel premises. “It was a change off the track. We hung out together. It was not like it was a punishment, being forced to stay away from the track and the gym. Featured Runner – January, 2011 Kristina Tabor Our next featured runner is Kristina Tabor from the New Castle area. Kristina is the 2010 WCC Female Champion, setting a new single season points standard. She and husband Jon have run several WCC events over the years, but each made a season long commitment in 2010. Jon had a great year as well, finishing 3rd Overall Male in a very competitive men's division. Both Kristina & Jon also spend time coaching young runners in their area. Kristina took a few minutes out of her busy day to share her thoughts on running. How did you get involved in running? When did you realize that you had potential as a distance runner? My first race was actually a kids fun run mile when I was four. I didn‘t do much after that other than lots of playing until 4th grade. My school offered cross country and track starting at 4th grade. It was the only sport you didn‘t have to try out for, so I didn‘t get cut! My aunt and uncle were both runners so I thought it sounded fun. I ran all through elementary, junior high and high school before running at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, for four years. I really enjoyed running in high school and was mediocre to decent. I actually wasn‘t even that competitive, time-wise, in college until my senior year. I knew all along that I would be a lifelong runner, and hopefully coach cross country or track at some point. My senior year everything really clicked and I would have loved to have had four more years to compete.

  • Happy Half Marathon Intermediate Training Plan
Happy Half Marathon Intermediate Training Plan THE SCHEDULE BELOW IS FOR INTERMEDIATE RUNNERS: Individuals who are no longer novice runners and who want to improve their performances. You should be capable of running 30 to 60 minutes a day, five to seven days a week, have competed in at least a few 5-K and 10-K races, if not a marathon, and at least be willing to consider the possibility that some speedwork might help you improve. If that sounds like too much training, and this is your first half marathon, you might be more comfortable training using the Beginner Program. The terms used in the training schedule are somewhat obvious, but following is an explanation of the terminology. Easy Runs: The runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays and sometimes Saturdays are designed to be done at a comfortable pace. Don’t worry about how fast you run these workouts. Run easy! If you’re training with a friend, the two of you should be able to hold a conversation. If you can’t do that, you’re running too fast. Distance: The training schedule dictates workouts at distances, from 3 to 12 miles. Don’t worry about running precisely those distances, but you should come close. Pick a course through the neighborhood, or in some scenic area where you think you might enjoy running. Then measure the course either by car or bicycle or GPS watch. Stretch & Strength: Mondays and Thursdays are days on which I advise you to spend extra time stretching--and do some strength training too.
