INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL “TWO PEOPLES - ONE WAY” from 7th to 20th of September

The Industrial , the largest flagship university in Western and the Russian Federation, kindly invites students from international universities and everyone interested to take part in the International Summer School “Two Peoples - One Way”. The event is going to be held in September 2020; it will be devoted to how two nationalities of modern , and , have been evolving and coexisting. The participants of the Summer School - international and Russian students, will learn how people of different cultures, mentalities and religions live, work and study, how they organize their life and celebrate holidays. At the close of the Summer School, the participants will prepare a booklet (an event photo report) on everything they saw and heard during the sightseeing tours of the cities: Tyumen, and .

Interactive lessons in will be organized in such a way as to modulate communication with Russian-speaking students and citizens. Since the first lessons, the participants will be able to speak Russian in cafes, shops, banks and museums. The programme of the Summer School includes a tour of the Museum of Ethnography located on Andreevskoye Lake, sightseeing tours of the city of Tyumen, Tobolsk and Yalutorovsk, tours of the villages of Pokrovskoye and Abalak, meetings with representatives of the Russian Culture Society, , participation in Russian and Tatar national holidays. Our guests will visit the Tobolsk Kremlin, the Yalutorovsky Prison, the Memorial House of Grigory Rasputin, a friend of the royal family of Nicholas II. The following events are also planned to be included in the programme: a tour of the reserved area – "Andreevskoye Lake", visiting sports complexes, shopping malls and mineral thermal springs, tasting ethnic foods of the peoples who live in Tyumen region, knowing traditions of tea parties, meeting with friends and walking around the city. The study of two peoples, two different cultures and religions will result in a booklet in which the participants will present their observations about peaceful coexistence of Russians and Tatars. They will see themselves in the photographs illustrating the Summer School days. The participants will be given information about the culture of Russians and Tatars; they will be introduced to interesting people; they will be shown a collection of national costumes and they will participate in performances. On completion of the Summer School the participants will be given certificates confirming their participation in the Summer School and Russian language study.

English language is the working language of the Summer School. Cost of participation: 240 € Accommodation: 7 € /day in a student dormitory
