    PRESS RELEASE Collaboration between AGF and YouTube provides new evidence of the relevance of video in the German media landscape Frankfurt/Hamburg, Mar. 6th, 2019 — For the first time, the AGF Videoforschung (AGF) and YouTube published the results of their cooperation. Their collaboration started more than three years ago. The aim of this cooperation is to map the additional use of video through other platforms within the framework of the AGF convergence standard. The results for the observation period show that — with an average daily viewing time of 267 minutes for persons 18 years and older — the relevance of video in Germany is unbroken! During the study period, traditional linear TV usage averaged 232 minutes per day. Plus 35 minutes of streaming usage, mostly through mobile devices (60%). "It is a remarkable milestone for AGF's video research to have reached the current level together with YouTube. Everyone involved knows that we need to work continuously on this internationally unique project to best reflect the differentiated use of the platform in this dynamically changing technological environment. AGF's goal is to identify YouTube as a reliable, transparent partner in the AGF system, in line with the common market standard", said AGF Managing Director Kerstin Niederauer-Kopf. Dirk Bruns, Head of Video Sales, Google Germany: "We are very proud to be able to present the first results together with AGF Videoforschung and hope that industry representatives from other countries will follow the example of AGF. Today, the nations of the Americas are working in close partnership to build a hemisphere based on political and economic freedom where dictators, traffickers and terrorists cannot thrive. As fate would have it, I was in Lima, Peru joining our hemispheric neighbors in the adoption of the Inter-American Democratic Charter when the terrorists struck the United States on September 11, 2001. By adopting the Democratic Charter, the countries of our hemisphere made a powerful statement in support of freedom, humanity and peace. Conspicuous for its absence on that historic occasion was Cuba. Cuba alone among the hemispheric nations did not adopt the Democratic Charter. That is not surprising, for Cuba alone among the nations of Americas is a dictatorship. For over four decades, the regime of Fidel Castro has imposed upon the Cuban people a communist system of government that systematically violates their most fundamental human rights. Just last year, the Castro regime consigned 75 human rights activists, independent librarians and journalists and democracy advocates to an average of nearly 20 years of imprisonment.

Januar 2020 MDR-Produzentenbericht 2018 Sehr geehrte Frau Präsidentin, ich freue mich, Ihnen heute den MDR-Produzentenbericht 2018 überreichen zu dür- fen. Der Bericht gibt einen Überblick über die Fernsehprogrammaufträge, die der MDR im Jahr 2018 vergeben hat. Zusätzlich werden Lizenzankäufe ausgewiesen. Die Darstellung unterscheidet nach abhängigen und unabhängigen Produzenten. Zudem wurden sendegebietsbezogene Daten erhoben. Dem Bericht können Sie entnehmen, dass der MDR und der unter seiner Federfüh- rung stehende KiKA im Jahr 2018 zusammen rund 67 Mio. Euro für Produktionen- und Lizenzkäufe ausgegeben haben. Die Aufwendungen des MDR allein haben ein Gesamtvolumen von 58,18 Mio. und liegen damit mehr als fünf Mio. Euro über dem Vorjahresbetrag. Davon gingen rund 81 Prozent des Auftragsvolumens an unabhängige Produzierende und Lizenzgeben- de. Erstmals werden innerhalb des Produzentenberichts die Beträge der gemeinschaft- lich finanzierten ARD-Produktionen unter Federführung des MDR aufgeführt. Es handelt sich dabei ausschließlich um fiktionale Produktionen, die über die ARD- Filmtochter Degeto beauftragt werden - etwa Hauptabendserien oder „Tatort“-Pro- duktionen. Im Rahmen der redaktionellen Federführung wurde durch den MDR somit ein Volu- men von insgesamt 124,53 Mio. Euro verantwortet, 2017 waren es noch 112,36 Mio. Wir haben hier also einen deutlichen Anstieg zu verzeichnen. Dabei gingen 66,83 Mio. Euro und damit über die Hälfte (53,7 Prozent) an Projekte, die von Produzenten aus Mitteldeutschland realisiert werden. 2016 waren es rund 53 Mio. Euro.
