10 Gallops Towards November. Stellar Field Of Racing Talent To Cover The 2019 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
Network 10 is thrilled to announce our stellar field of racing talent covering the 2019 Melbourne Cup Carnival this November.
Spearheading the coverage is Racing Host, renowned global racing expert Francesca Cumani.
Packed with racing experience, insight and passion, former trainer and the man responsible for making Black Caviar a household name, Peter Moody joins the 10 Network 10 stable as Expert Commentator. A CBS Company When it comes to analysing horse racing, there is no-one who understands the mechanics and intricacies of this great sport better than David “Gator” Gately. David will bring his wealth of knowledge to the screens as Form Expert.
Our Racing Reporters covering all the latest news from the mounting yard, stables and around the track are award-winning journalist Michael Felgate and 10 News First senior sports reporter, aka “Princess of the Punt”, Caty Price.
Presenter and thoroughbred racing devotee Brittany Taylor saddles up as Horseback Interviewer to talk to all the winning jockeys on their return to the winner’s yard.
With a multi-studio set-up across Flemington Racecourse, viewers will get unprecedented access to jockeys, trainers, owners, celebrities and of course all the fashions on the field over the Carnivals’ four days.
Studio 10 , The Project , 10 News First and The Loop will broadcast live from the track.

Back on 10 for the first time since 2001, this year’s live broadcast of the Melbourne Cup Carnival covers four huge days of racing – AAMI Victoria Derby Day, Kennedy Oaks Day, Seppelt Wines Stakes Day and of course the race that stops the nation, the Lexus Melbourne Cup Day.

Peter Moody
Peter Moody hails from the tiny Queensland town of Wyandra and it’s fair to say racing is in his blood.
Peter’s early racing experience saw him work for some of the top stables in Australia including Tommy Smith and Colin Hayes. He spent 10 years with Bill Mitchell in Brisbane before taking out his training license in 2001.
Network 10 Peter had his first Group 1 win with Amalfi in the Victoria Derby in 2001 and decided A CBS Company to move his operation to Victoria setting up Moody Racing at Caulfield.
Peter rapidly established himself as a rising star in the industry and won his first trainer’s premiership in 2009/2010.
Responsible for many highly successful runners teamed up with leading stable jockey Luke Nolan, his most famous stable star is the exceptional unbeaten mare, Black Caviar who retired in 2013.
In 2016 Peter made the decision to retire from training and has largely stayed involved in the industry through a variety of roles including as a bloodstock manager and racing manager. He has also been a popular voice as an expert comments man on racing.com.
David Gately
When it comes to analysing horse racing, there is no-one who understands the mechanics and intricacies of this great game more than David “Gator” Gately.
One of Victoria’s most respected form analysts, David started out as a 17-year-old using a free tipping email service back in 1999. His hobby became full time work when he launched his own website ozracingform.com in 2003. The website soon caught the eye of Best Bets which saw him join them in 2007 while continuing to run his own site.
David also has a passion for many things outside of racing including music, AFL (where he played and coached at state league level) and more recently, triathlon. David has completed 3 x Ironman triathlons around Australia and qualified for the World Championships in his age group in 2018 in the Olympic Distance event.
Earlier this year David joined Sky where he contributes to Sky Racing, Sky Sports Radio and RadioTAB.

Michael Felgate
Michael Felgate is one of Australia’s leading racing experts. A journalist with more than 20 years’ experience in print, radio and television, Michael has covered the biggest sporting events in the world.
Michael has had a life-long passion for racing. It began when his grandparents took him to race meetings as a child and paid for him to ride on the clerk of the course horse - he’s been hooked ever since.
After studying journalism at Monash University, Michael received his first job in the industry writing for sports betting magazine, Winners .
In 1998 Michael moved to Sydney as a reporter for Sky Channel, covering all aspects of racing.
His big break came in 2002 joining Channel Seven, he has hosted and reported on Network 10 major events in Australia and overseas including; Olympic Games, Commonwealth A CBS Company Games, Australian Open, Wimbledon and AFL.
Michael has been an integral part of Australia’s racing media for more than 20 years, hosting national and international broadcasts. He has consistently been recognised for his coverage of racing, winning numerous awards including a “clean sweep” of the 2007 Spring Carnival.
In 2016 Michael joined radio station RSN as its leading racing presenter. His show Racing Pulse is recognised as setting the agenda in racing - speaking to the biggest names in the sport.
Outside of work Michael is married to fellow journalist Jacqueline Felgate and they have two young daughters Madison and Georgia, with the racing bug already starting to bite!
Caty Price
Caty Price is a journalist and television presenter with more than 15 years’ experience.
Upon completing her study at Curtin University in Western Australia, Caty got her first job in media at 6PR in Perth.
In 2005 Caty joined Network 10 and spent close to a decade in the Perth newsroom as a senior sports journalist and presenter. During this time, she also held on air roles with 10 Sport on its broadcasts of BBL cricket, NBL, Netball and Australia’s Swimming Championships. It was here that Caty was dubbed “The Princess of the Punt” due to her passion for racing through her tipping segment on 10 News First.
In 2014, Caty began freelancing for a period of two years working as a presenter for the Nine Network, Fox Sports and 10. Working as a boundary rider on the Women’s T20 Internationals and Netball’s ANZ Championships, Caty also hosted WA’s group one racing broadcasts on the Nine network and held an ambassadorial role with Perth Racing.

2017 saw Caty make the move to Melbourne where she is currently Senior Sports Journalist and Presenter for 10 News First taking the lead on all racing coverage. She has also co-anchored SEN Racing for the 2018 Spring and 2019 Autumn Racing carnivals.
Brittany Taylor
Brittany Taylor comes from a background entrenched in racing with her grandparents and trainer father, Jim Taylor introducing her to horses when she was just a baby.
Brittany started working for her dad when she was 12 years old and still rides track work for him to this day.
She part-owned her first racehorse when she was just 18 and it was the best introduction to ownership she could have asked for. Thateldo won six of its first 13 Network 10 starts and placed at the other seven. A CBS Company Brittany is a presenter for Perth Racing and Sky Racing including horseback interviewer and a regular contributor on TAB radio’s The Sports Daily. She has held ambassador roles for TAB Touch and Perth Racing.
