— Northern Colorado /

Southern Wyoming — Several dozen northern Colorado and southern Wyoming Breakfast and Driving Tour members of Rocky Mountain Region gathered on Saturday morning, May 11th, for breakfast at the First Watch Restaurant in Fort Collins. The gathering and subsequent tour were organized May 11, 2019 by Thomas Matza and Erik Torkilson. King Clemons stopped by to chat about his 800,000-mile 356A, but Frank Barrett had the oldest car on the event, a ‘65 912. After stuffing ourselves we toured north to the historic site of Ted’s Place north of Laporte. From there we drove upstream along the St. Vrain River, south over the mightily curvaceous County Road 127 through Stove Prairie, then down Rist Canyon, around Horsetooth Reservoir, and through Masonville, ending up at The Dam Store on the Big Thompson River. It was a great success! – Frank Barrett

Lose the dunce cap and put on your helmet. It’s time for Summer School! Get your summer kicked off right with two days of High Performance Driver Education at High Plains Raceway! We will have space for up to 30 first-time drivers, so if you missed our May event, here’s your chance to knock the dust off those race tires! We also plan to walk the track Saturday night, which will be a great opportunity to better learn High Plains Raceway up close and personal, and get insider tips from some of RMR’s most experienced drivers. A Saturday night dinner is available for $15.

Volunteers: We need volunteers to help us run the event. If you’ve been curious about the track, volunteering is a great way to see what goes on, and help the Club!

Charity: Our charity for this event is The Cottonwood Institute where your donations empower students to be environmentally aware and civically engaged. The Cottonwood Institute believes that students can’t be expected to care about the environment if they never have a chance to explore the outdoors.
