I am going to be shoing ho to use a specific technique called a Sedish . These are great for use on a ind da and burn er hot and efficientl. The best part is all that is needed is a large cut log, some kindling and ire. The fire does not need to be replenished at all hile .

The first step is to go out and find a large round log. These can be saed off dead and it is important to kno hat ood ou are using and to find dr pieces. I decided to use a log from a spruce since softoods start easier than hardood. With the log ou hae found, the net step is to split it into four pieces making them as een as possible hich is hat Im doing here ith a splitting maul.

Once ou hae our four split pieces, it is time to place them back together so ou kno ho much to care out of the middle. These to pictures are the process of caring out the pieces. For this, I used a hatchet. Once ou hae cared out the middle of the split pieces, it is time to tie the pieces back together ith ire. There should be a hole in the middle of the large enough to fit our hand into. It is also good to kno that it is not necessar for the pieces to fit perfectl back together. Cracks beteen them actuall is good for airflo to the fire. The reason I put it back together ith ire is because rope ill eentuall burn off from the heat of the fire.

Net, I put some dr grass and birch bark in the bottom of the log. I also put the log on some stones so air could flo through the bottom of the fire.

No the easiest part is the fire! With a , I lit the birch and slol added some of the kindling I got from shaping the split pieces of ood. It didnt take more than to minutes before the logs themseles started to burn hich is hat actuall the torch.

Within a couple of minutes, the fire as burning er ell and the ind actuall helped heat it up een faster. I did not een use an fluid or een fireood. This as all from hat I as able to find in the oods. I decided to sho ho eas it is to cook on the torch method because there is no need for an rocks, branches or metal to be placed oer the fire and all the heat is directed out of the hole in the top. The egg cooked ithin a couple of minutes and once the fire burns for a hile, it burns much cleaner and thros a lot of heat.
